When you know that Soton are deadly from set pieces, playing a commanding keeper is a must. Especially, when your no1 keeper has always been famous for being quite weak and super reliant on his reflexes. We do look toothless now. Our general play is awful. Southampton are controlling the game. the tempo, the possession. The only thing we have done is a pathetic press to counter which causes their goalie to make the error. We are not playing a top side here, just a team that is coached properly with a system.

Exactly. Individually we are better and have more depth but we've set up to essentially combat their system, not impose our own. We are just too passive/reactive despite having so many top players.

I wouldn't say better team by distance. We have been better for some time. But we dropped off and made so many individual mistakes allowing them to have a go. So overall it looks equal. They took their chances.
