Some interesting developments at OT

Ruud and Keano could both be on their way out. Keano will probably not leave, but it's likely we're selling Ruud.

Also, we're after Ronaldo. I was told two weeks ago that Ronaldo would be at OT next season, but I didn't know how serious the bloke was. However, got it confirmed last night that we're after him.

The Rio interest is also genuine, but it WILL cost us a lot of dosh - maybe more than we're willing to pay.

There are a lot of unsolved issues re who's coming and going, and there will probably be some surprises in both directions.

Oh, and Jaap Stam could come back. There are some regrets of selling him, and Lazio haven't paid Man United nor any of the agents involved.
 
Why would Ruud be sold after the season he's just had?

I'm starting to wonder whether you're not a nagging old scouse lady boring.

What puzzles me about this is what rationale is there for selling Van Nistelrooy ? The guy did all that was asked of him and more last season and if he is replaced with Ronaldo is that not taking an even bigger risk on the injury front ? Granted Ronaldo is having a great world cup but that doesn,t mean his knee could stand up to an EPL +CL campaign and why would Inter sell him now ?
Also I find the statement about Staam a bit preposterous. After all the acrimony etc. about his departure and quotes which have followed I can hardly see him rushing back to OT.
The Keane bit may just have a hint of truth given Nicky Butt,s performances last season and at the WC.bur again if the two players mentioned were top leave I think there would be a huge number of fans very disgruntled.

All sounds very unlikely to me. You're painting the board in a light that they don't quite deserve if you ask me. They have spent the money recently. What pressure is there to take a profit on every player who's value soars? None.

there would be huge outrage at OT if this happens but ive also heard about the keano/ruud thing and ronaldo would be signed to apease the fans

but really this would be a major thing to do on the boards side and would fergie agree with it?

and this just after kenyon had been making some good strides towards making the board abit more fan friendly but this would totally squash this

Fergie has just recently talked about plans for Ruud next season - come back to training a bit earlier than the rest to work on his stamina, and he also said he believes he'll be even better next time around or something.

Hardly the talk about a player who is going to be sold. Fergie worked and waited far too long for Ruud to sell him after 12 months. Those rumors are utter nonsence. It's not 'likely' we're selling Ruud, it's outragous.
 
RVN's had a great season.. he's scored over 35 goals, why would he be unhappy with the way we play???

i want Ronaldo at OT but not at the expense of Ruud!

Personally I think you're talking shite - sell Keane and Van Nistelrooy?! If the team is looking to implode then that's the perfect way of doing it, but something tells me it's not so we won't!

Selling Ruud sounds a bit ridiculous to be honest considering the season he has just had.

The 'selling' of Jaap Stam has been brought up many a time and him not being paid for, It wouldn't suprise me if we swapped him back for Veron.

And as for Keano, Its debatable, Nicky Butt is in his element at the moment and Keane supposidly wants to play for Celtic or something like that - Unfortunatly all good things must come to an end at some point and to be honest Nicky would be a class replacement in my opinion
 
It could make sense if Sir Alex was thinking of fundamentally changing the way we play - maybe injecting some more pace into our attack - but it all seems unlikely to me.

After all the effort we went to, to sign Van Nistlerooy, and the effort he put in last season, it sees unlikely we'd flog him for a quick buck. Bust-ups with Fergie aren't shooting offences by themselves.

Keano I can see next season. I get the impression Fergie wants to create a third and final great side before he retires so he'll have to look to the day when he has to build the side around someone else, but surely there are the more immediate problems we all know about.

No fiction Niall, just told you what I've was told last night. I had dinner with a sports management company which works closely with the club (and Sir Alex).

To me it doesn't make any sense to sell either of them, but things can happen behind the scene that we don't know about. It didn't really make any sense to me to sell Ince, Hughes and Kanchelskis when we did either.

This bloke has told me stuff before, some of which has come off, some which hasn't, e.g. Beckham was very much on the way out of the club before the turn of the year, didn't happen as we know. And he told me about the Stam departure, which of course did happen.
