Suits me. I’d have all these as greater priorities too. Convinced the major problems with the defence are because of a lack of protection from midfield. We don’t have any sort of holding midfielder. Matic isn’t that and never has been.
I'd only agree with this if it includes bringing Tuanzebe into the fold in place of Rojo. The guys played something like 16 games in two years and Axel is potentially top class for me, he should be given a chance.

We talked about Koulibaly, Varane and Alderweireld and suddenly we dont need anyone? Doesnt make sense to me. If Pogba and Lukaku leave, then they need to be replaced too.
We should go for Teilemans as one of the CM options. Had half a season to acclimate to the league and has been very good. Would work well as an 8 for me.
We cannot go into next season without a proper CB and RW, we are asking for shit if that happens.
They shouldn’t neglect the centre back signing. At least one needs to be made... Ideally Lindelof kicks on next season and we can bring his long term partner this summer. You don’t have to look too far outside of Manchester to find a team who look much better with a quality centre back acquisition.
We're also asking for shit if we go in without improvements in midfield and RB too. Could really use a left winger and maybe a striker upgrade while we're at it. That's before you even consider the players leaving. It's staggering the things we absolutely need. I'm not even comfortable saying which one we need most because we need them all in one way or another.

Firstly I’d like to say I understand our main needs are a RW, CB, RB, and CM. Getting those 4 is ideal but let’s say if we only spend “big” on one of those positions (example being Sancho for RW) and relatively fair priced for the others, it might leave us money to go after Ziyech.
Ziyech is 26 years old, primarily plays RW and CAM, and he’s progressively gotten better and better every year. He has 20 goals and 21 assists in all competitions this season & a whopping 100 goal involvements (49 goals, 51 assists) in 130 games since joining Ajax in 2016/17...and he has a release clause of £25m. That’s it. In today’s market that’s pocket change and I see no excuse as to why a big club like United would even have to think twice to make such a move for what would be chump change for us.

Has a knack for tackling and being hard to play against never easing up. With the ball or with the team in attack, he’s as fluid and unpredictable as anyone always making runs and cutting. Which is a lot more than our static forwards who are known to be slackers that don’t have a high enough work rate.

He would be an excellent primary bench option to Pogba or Sancho or could even start along with Pogba in midfield against certain sides and take pressure off him by not letting him be the only option the team has to funnel any sort of offense through. And he’s not selfish either as his primary instinct is to distribute the ball by making key short and/or long passes versus just dribbling through opponents. As someone else said, been a few of these articles over the years, sure it was only last summer talk of 8-10 definately leaving and 6 coming in....not even Fellaini left that summer.
only LVG one summer got close to the numbers needed in one window....not the right quality. only one window did Mourinho get the right quality just 2/3 players short numbers wise.

I think one of the few silver linings of our struggles is we could be a more attractive prospect to younger players looking to get minutes and gameplay.

My controversial opinion is our goalkeeper is not commanding enough.. Our defences up until him always had a loud commanding keeper behind them who kept them in check, luckily his early years this was masked with Vidic and Rio but our defence as is needs a commanding figure sorting them out.
It’s a team sport. Better CB’s would solve part of the problem as would better protection from midfield as would a better a RB and as would better form from De Gea.
If we have to prioritise this summer then personally I’d have RB ahead of CB.
I don’t think signing any of the rumoured centre backs will make that much difference in isolation. Neither would have Van Dijk. It’s about our ability to defend as a coherent system. It’s way too easy for other sides to progress down the pitch and get at our defence. Having a Carrick, or any defensive midfielder with good positioning, would make more difference.

Absolutely baffling (and a mistake) if we're not in for Alderweireld at £25m. I'm all for giving Axel a chance to claim a spot in the squad (though I wouldn't make him captain like FootyGirl suggests) but to pass up on a world-class, PL-proven, experienced CB like Alderweireld for utter pittance whilst weakening a rival seems mad to me.
Pleased with the rest though. RB is obviously required (AWB or Meunier please), RW likewise (welcome back to Manchester, Jadon Sancho) and two midfielders, maybe three if we lose Herrera and Pogba (plus Mata).
But most people say DDG has been that for three or four years (not saying I agree with them: Neuer was always that for me)
you aren't getting Bissaka for 35m and you definitely arent gettnig Felix for 40m.

Bissaka £50m+, Felix probably £70-80m minimum I'd say.
& Neves? how much would he cost? Should be considerably higher than Bissaka
Also aint getting DVB for 40m as well. They guy is absolute class, if Zaniolio (sp) is getting linked for crazy money, this guy is doing it on the biggest stage and will go for more.

Jesus no CB again would be a disaster, if that is the case, Rojo going, Tuanzebe being instated as Lindelof full time partner, keep Bailly and hope he finds his first season form and use Smalling and Jones in the Europa and for emergencies only!
I think we'll have to do a couple of 'budget signings' and they will probably be defenders of higher quality than what we have already. I'll be amazed if we don't get the Centreback for a second year in a row.

That means we'd have a net spend of £20million, have gotten rid of the so-called 'deadwood' and players who despite wanting to be there and having good professionalism are probably asking for a bit too much money given their roles in the squad (Mata/Herrera). Alderweireld and Meunier wages would probably fall somewhere between £300-350k per week and we'd have spent peanuts.
At this point, the club would likely move one of Sanchez, Lukaku, Pogba, or De Gea. Maybe two at a push? You can afford to get rid of that many when we could promote Henderson, Laird, Tuanzebe, Garner, Gomes, Greenwood and Chong...add 4 big signings to that CB, CM, RW and either RB or SC (or both) and we’d be in a far healthier state
