When does this iritating thing called football finally end and we can start our transfer window ?!
We done Chelsea a favour taking that pair of plodders off their hands
Outside of maybe 3 goals he scored, Mata hasn't really won us many games. He's too slow and is too easily pushed off the ball.Yes, because Chelsea fans would much rather have Bakayoko, Jorginho and Drinkwater than Matic LMFAO. ANd Mata has been a good servant to the club. You don't last as long as he has if he wasn't. Don't forget, he was their player of the year two years running when we signed him and he was loved by Cheslea supporters. Not sure why so many people here seem to have a beef with him.

And Jones, Valencia and young to name a few have lasted too long at our club.
That's a big issue for us. Keeping shite.

I think that a bigger issue for us is that a lot of our supporters think that we need to have a squad of 22 players and all of them need to be world class. The season is long, and it's squad players like these guys that make a club successful on all fronts. Where would we have been without the "John O'Shea's" and "Phil Neville's" of the past???

All very sensible and constructive. Would suggest we need two CBs but there we go.
Interesting Pogba not among the possible 'outs'.
That's just it. If you were truly just going about your business trying to get us actually better in the footballing sides of things you wouldn't be out in the media making absolutely wildly unrealistic claims about transfer targets. Not a single one of those targets mentioned in this thread will actually sign for us. Our signings over the past 10 years mostly have been the plan b/c/d signings that we got our hands on because we couldn't really get our main signings. I think Pogba, sanchez and Martial have been the ONLY signings that were legitimately 'plan A'.SAF? I thought he spoke really positively about the Glazers, every chance he got.
In any case, this kind of briefing is a signal of intent, it's not to pacify shareholders until the window shuts. It's painfully obvious that we're far from competing for serious titles. However, this public signal of intent can of course backfire drastically like it has many a time before under Woodward's leadership.
Real concern is even the last point looks doubtful considering how our board seems reluctant in investing properly. We need the Arabs to buy and invest into us, otherwise our current board would just be happy collecting our money into their wallets. All while we are still stuck with Smallling/Jones/Lingard as automatic starter...I think there are some cold hard truths people can't grasp on the caf it seems:
- Sanchez isn't going anywhere
- We're not getting Sancho or CHO
- It is very likely De Gea leaves next summer for free, Herrera leaves this summer for free
- Jones, Matic, Young will get plenty of game time next season
- players leaving are Darmian, Mata, Herrera, Rojo
I also wouldn't be surprised if we don't buy a CB - Smalling, Lindelof, Jones and Bailly will be our set of defenders.
Real questions are what RW have Ole and the board identified instead of Sancho/CHO and what two midfielders are we getting.

I've heard this before for several windows, and up until now i've bought it as a valid arguement. Now i'm wandering - what great fecking balance do we have right now that will be disturbed?

The reality of where we are it is that we are probably a worse team than wolves.
As a team we probably are. Forget Ole, over the recent years, as a collective, I actually we're one of the absolute worst teams around when you consider the players and resources and even managerial quality at disposal. No we are not. This is as worse as the other guy saying we are at Everton level. They are very good counter attacking side and their style of play suits playing vs stronger teams with all the space to counter attack. They are not better than us.

There's a reason people constantly want 10 players sold. It's not because our players are that bad (although we have made poor buys). It's because the team has been mismanaged and as a collective is weaker than the sum of its parts rather than being stronger.
The most important 'out' is Sánchez. He's a time bomb on those wages.
How do we get rid though? Do we need to subsidize a move somewhere else?
They are the sine qua non of such identitarian counter attacking flushness. But there's no one else apart from them, City, Liverpool, Burnley (?), who have a personality so fixed in the public mind. I'd just like it if we got the best out of our squad and added to that.I mean currently Wolves are a better organised team, with an identity, style of play and are seemingly getting the best out of their squad. Not sure you can say that's true of us most of the time.
All fans give support. United fans aren't unique in that sense. Can't wait for the season to end.
One so the Jose period can be fully behind us.
Two so I can see if Ed and the Glazer's do sufficient business. If not might have to curtail the amount of thought and time I put into worrying about United.
Show the fans some ambition for the amount of support they give.
Excited to see Ole build his squad but the question is will he be allowed to.

Also, both LVG and Mourinho were backed and allowed to build their squads so why wouldn't Ole?
Dont disagree with any of that. Wish we'd have already gotten in a DoF.Never said he won't be just said it remains to be seen.
I'd argue our away support sets us apart from most. Also, as a fanbase in terms of match going fans Ed and the Glazer's have gotten off lightly for leading the club to 6 seasons of mediocrity post Fergie with their poor planning.
Also, when you consider who has been given new contacts this season and previous season Ed comes into serious questioning. Young Jones Rojo Mata and signing Matic are all things that could have been prevented with a director of football or someone with a footballing brain.
Ed is at fault as he seems to continue to want to be apart of footballing matters when he has proven time after time to be a let down it that regard.
Should stick to the sponsorships and delegate recruitment role to someone else.

Given Ole is a fan and has been interim manager for a few months, I imagine he's clear on the additions he'd like.
If they really want us to get back to the top - I'm pretty sure they will realise we need more than 2 players mate.Usual dick swinging time by Woodward which ultimately will not result in the big talk matching his actions.
I remember last summer after beating City at the Etihad and finishing 2nd, I felt we could somehow bridge the gap only for him to get us Fred, Green and Dalot(wtf)...and then name drop Varane.
If we get 2 players from that purpoted list of transfer targets, I woule be mightily surprised. I am not buying Woodward's empty talk this time.
It's a bit patronising to suggest that there are truths that 'people' on the caf can't grasp.
Think most on here are savvy enough to understand how modern football works in that it's not easy to get some players while it isn't difficult, if the desire is there, to get others.
True, that Sancho or CHO are unlikely to be signed but apart from posters being optimistic, I don't see an expectancy to sign these players.
We all know that Valencia,Mata,Rojo are likely to leave but it's hardly a surprise. I can't see Bailly here but when w need 4 CBs why dispense with all of them? Is that how it works?
I think it's a bit naive to know exactly who the coaches have identified but ridiculous to imply that they have no idea! I'm sure you'll be the first to know who they've identified, check your inbox daily for an update from Utd!
I won't believe it unless if Ole says it. This is Woodward's briefing all over again.
Also, Why did We sign Lee Grant again?
