I am tired of hearing rumors of United being linked with this player and planning a bid for that player. I dont know about you guys but I want so action, so I have drawn a list of all the players we have been strongly linked with and see who you guys fancy to be a United player most definitely.

Djibril Cisse.

Papa Dioup.
Julius Escude.
Andrie Shevchencko
Cristiano Ronaldo (Sporting)

Lopez/Gudjohnsen seem like the best bets at the moment.

Personally, I'm not so sure we'll get anyone.
 
Ideally I'd like the young given the chance to step up. That can (a gamble, yes, I admit) solve our lack of depth upfront. And I believe we have another couple of young defenders waiting in the offing. This option will win in building up a team spirit compared with bringing in more stars who may take a while before settling down.

I wouldnt be surprised if its none personally.

but if we are getting any of them id expect Escude and Lopez maybe.

Id like to see Mexes, Cisse, Escude, Totti and Robinson but thats never gonna happen!

Cissé is a french player. His name is not french of course, but you don't spell it correctly. You always forget the -é at the end.

Can't disagree that he was looking a promising prospect. Kinda like Beattie is now, except they are different types of forwards.

Hmmmm....if I remember rightly, Beattie started out at Blackburn. I wonder what the time scale was for him and Jansen. i.e. did he leave because Jansen was brought in ahead of him.

That would be a coincidence.
 
a LB/RB -Escude(or who knows maybe that other LB at Nantes)

A fourth forward- Djibril Cisse- see that the dippers are playing Auxerre in the UEFA cup, so Houllier will be drooling over Cisse as he destroys them and then we pick him up in the summer.

A fourth CB after Larry goes -not Mexes(though that would be sweet), with three excellent young CB already here, its more likely we'll find a quality CB at the 30 mark.

other positions are less urgent so they may or may not happen;
Quaresma- sounds like a good idea

Cisse said he'd like to play for us, but he didn't say we'd made an approach. I can't think of any actually who have recently said we've made an offer or enquiry. Almost all have come from Agent's comments and later denied or contradicted by the player.

People are always expecting big name signings recently. It's not necessary you know. Maybe, just maybe, he is going to sign a relatively unknown player.
 
Damian Duff (before Liverpool do )play right or left and one of the stars of the world cup, Stephan Carr (who we can get at a knockdown price as he has only one year left on his contract) or Wayne Bridges (Mr. Consistency at Southampton just like our own ex-Denis Irwin). In the above 3 you have excellent young players who are all internationals and can only get better. I think we also need new centre forward but who is the best choice to compliment RVN style. Personally I think someone who is very quick i.e. Schevchenko who can't get his place at Milan because they only play one up front.

If i was in SAF shoes i would give it my all to get Rooney, he WILL be the best player in the world challenged by no-one, he won't be another Micheal 'Turn, run and dive'Owen, i have watched this lad several times, and he is a quality allrounder, scores all different types of goals (Arsenal-25-30 Yarder?, Leeds-Left Bakke on his arse) and did anyone see his performances in the F.A youth cup last year, like his 40 yarder and his overhead kick, plus he is probably more built then most of our team <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> , reminds me of Rivaldo, only stronger, and a thief.

You know, I admit I'm not a brain surgeon, but I sometimes have trouble editing posts. I nearly always seem to click on "reply with quote" button instead of "edit/delete", consequently I end up quoting myself. Now I know there's nothing more you'd rather like than to read what I write twice( :rolleyes: :D ) but I normally delete my mistake to save my own embarassment.

I have a number of problems with some of the people already suggested! You have to think would they bring anything new to our team? Damien Duff is, in my opinion, a poor mans Ryan Giggs, although he might be a good long term replacement. Stephen Carr, for me offers little that Gary Neville doenst. Wayne Bridge, well we dont exactly need a left back do we? We have three international players that can play there: Mikael, Phil and John. Midfield, well we can choose any 4 from six top-class internationals. It is up front, where we have just 3 instead of the requisite 4 strikers. I think that maybe SAF should go for (if allowed) either a pacey player or a greater physical presence. Cissé seems to be everyones answer for the pacey one, and James Beattie has been suggested also. I think Beattie's physical presence would be a great asset, and something different to what we already have! Cissé is also a good player but I dunno if he's the answer! Then again the Wizard may pull another Solskjaer from his magic hat as somebody already said. SAF knows best, hopefully the plc will untie the purse strings though. <img src="graemlins/santa.gif" border="0" alt="[Santa]" />
