I lived in Fallowfield and then Withington....but even in the centre,it seemed more Mancunians supported City......though,there were obviously more Man Utd fans the closer you got to Salford

We Manchester United fans detect bitterness and envy from Arsenal fans - and so you bloody well should be! Your crumbling in the face of European opposition up to now (and we are hardly in the decisive stages yet of the Champions League)has been a demonstration of lack of drive, endurance, willpower and true class to succeed in Europe. As for that pathetic EUEFA Cup Final - some commentators called it the worst in history.

Yes, Arsenal made history that night against Galatasaray - as weak-kneed wimps who couldn`t score a goal in usual time (not that Arsenal was trying too hard as most of their players chose to defend)and then scuffed their penalty shoots. However, the worst thing about that game was the sheer boredom level - that game was the pits.

Face it, Arsenal can`t cut it in Europe (not even in the watered down EUEFA Cup version) and this season`s Champions League is going to lead to more tears post match. It is not hard to predict there will never be a European trophy in the Arsenal cabinet unless it is a mediocre penalty shootout win in yet another dreary, mediocre EUEFA Cup Final.

Impress you?....that's hardly my raison d'etre posting on this forum.Look,the vitriol I have attracted in pointing out (fairly innocuously,I might add)a simple fact that winning 3-1 away to Roma is more impressive than beating Basel by the same margin is a little excessive,don't you think?
Frankly,it's pretty much irrelevant to me how long you have been supporting Man Utd .You might have been born in the centre circle at OT,bottle fed by Matt Busby,the brother of George Best and have 'United Til I Die' tattooed to your left buttock for all I care.But it doesn't seem to answer my basic premise that Man Utd are not the force they were,that the victories they get against mediocre opposition in Europe are usually over hyped by many of you Mancs ,fueled by the press coverage and that,maybe,you are actually in decline and some objective analysis (which some of you are capable of) is somewhat lacking.Well,this season I think will tell us a lot and though I think you might get a result today (too tight to call,actually) it shouldn't blind you to the 'bleeding obvious'.
