So this now deserves an infraction

Well as I mentioned, I'm undecided as to how I should deal with it, like a normal person, or like Brad. It's Friday avo and I'm edging towards the Brad way.

You can go the Brad way, I won't stop you, in fact I will massively encourage it. However, one infraction point will end up being something you look back on and remember fondly, compared to the harsher reality you will face if that happens. The best way to deal with it, would be to log off your computer and tell yourself 'I've just been infracted on the internet'. Let the words sink in and realize what this means, then check yourself to see if there are any wounds. If there aren't, you've somehow survived this episode.

Not half the forum, half the football watching World to be exact. I stand by that too.
A significant portion of this forum would be included in that though, yes?

I don't see on what basis you can make a statement like that except out of extreme arrogance - it's not like you have some knowledge that you can be sure is more accurate than the rest of the footballing world. It's just self aggrandising bullshit unless a) You're including yourself in that 50%+ that are clueless or b) You can point to something factual where you are well above average compared to most football fans, eg. predicting the results of matches.
We see much worse than that on a regular basis though. The point is that there are lots of posters who get away with much than what this chap seems to have done. It's a bit selective. Anyway, an infraction isn't very important anyway I guess.
True, there are some people who get away with saying whatever they like about anyone on here, but they're the exceptions that should be dealt with. If one person gets away with murder it doesn't make murder legal.

Exactly, but let's use a scenario people can relate to - If one poster uses a signature, it doesn't mean all posters get to use signatures - that's not right at all.

As mentioned earlier, we're all fine calling the football watching World sheep when DDG or Joe Hart is the topic.

Correct?

Brad would have had a thread in the general now, and a massively sarcastic apology, with 'cnuts' jammed in there a couple hundred times, all subtle like.

I don't think it was as much the sheep comment but the tone of your posts in the Nani thread did to be frank come across as arrogant and intolerant. This is an Internet forum and opinions no matter how ridiculous they may seem are what makes it an interesting place to converse. The whole 'I'm right and half of the rest of you'se are stupid' isn't an attitude that will win anyone friends on here. Take the infraction on the chin and just chill out, none of our opinions actually matter in the grand scheme of things.

What the hell is "infraction point". Do I have any? If not I surely will if we lose to LFC I think....

Speak for yourself. I reckon there's far too much of that sort of thing, people in a United-biased environment like RedCafe criticising consumers of a nationally biased media for being taken in by it, while being completely oblivious to their own biases - it's incredibly arrogant and myopic.

Tell me, why do you think you're smarter than the average football fan? On what do you base this assertion? The average football fan thinks he's smarter than the average football fan.

Actually brwned, had you wrote something about my attitude I wouldn't be outraged. But you said it was for that post, which quite frankly is ridiculous. And well, I'm also not sure how impartial you are when it's clear that you are in disagreement with me regarding Nani.

I must have missed that PM.

You see, I think you'd have been outraged in a completely different way...but then you didn't even wait for me to reply to your PM. If you really wanted to discuss the infraction I would've happily done so, but it seems like you'd rather just have a moan. About time too, I suppose. So, yeah, to sum up, posters who consistently belittle other people's opinions will be infracted. If someone does it once or twice they won't be infracted for it. If that makes it a shit forum then you're free to find somewhere more accommodating.

You've never been PM'd about your posting style? Right. Ok.

Tooooooooo many reasons why I think this.

So you don't think that a big percentage of human kind are sheep and susceptible to popular opinion? I think a lot of people would disagree with you there, not least the people behind presidential elections, religious leaders etc etc.

I think you're massively misinformed if you don't think that.

You see, Pogue has been infracted before...you just wouldn't know because he didn't feel the need to moan about it in public.

A noble cause.

Ok. Glad I gave you an outlet for your anger then, happy to help, now we can all move on right? I'm touchy and it's right there in the open, job done, mission accomplished, time to close the thread. Or would that be too ridiculous for you to cope with as well?

You are a tad tetchy from time to time, in fairness.

You need to relax more would be my advice :)

That wouldn't be ridiculous at all, close away.

I'll think twice about defending United players in future, thanks.

I'm aware that people can be influenced by what they read, what they see, what they hear, certainly. There's a world of difference between that and thinking others are "completely clueless" though, that's just arrogance. It's pretty naive to think you're not one of these people who can be influenced as well - after all, most people who would be seen by an independent as being susceptible think that the rest of the world have it dead wrong and have been suckered into believing the wrong things.

A 1 point infraction? Kinell. I thought that you had murdered his parents and raped his cat at the very least.
