The religious hatred/incitement law...

The proposal would essentially extend the concept of the UK's race hate laws to cover belief; it would become illegal to knowingly use words or behaviour which are threatening, insulting or abusive in a way that stirs up hatred against an individual because of what they believe.

It is the second type of statement which ministers have indicated they want the law to target. However, opponents say the legislation has been drawn wide enough to mean someone could be prosecuted whether or not they intended their words to be inciteful.

I am giving my views in these threads, I am an Irishman living in Canada.I gave my views on the IRA, because a lot of people on here didn't know the scoop on the situation in the north of Ireland- simple as that.

Second, I gave my views on the Muslim situation where I currently live.I work in construction, a trade that Muslims don't work in, I stated a fact.

If I have insulted anybody in the Muslim community, then I do offer my sincere apologies, I appreciate some of my views on them are naive, much like the people who post about the situation in Ireland with similiar ignorance.

Slabber is digging up some real old posts here, some were tongue in cheek, some were fact.I'd like to think I have learned more since coming on here and I don't believe any posts I have made recently can in any way be described as anything other than honourable.

Another poster hit the nail on the head, Slabber was looking for a way out.

I won't change my views on Muslim terrorists, I have no time for terrorists of any ilk.I grew up in a country ravaged by terrorism, perhaps that's why I dislike them so much.

I find it disturbing that a man who stated that he wants my wife and kids killed by terrorists, has the audacity to shift through thousands of posts to discredit my name.Isn't that disturbing? that a grown man would spend hours upon hours trying to find my previous posts.He either has too much spare time or he is mentally unstable.

I could take his threats as serious, he did mention a terrorist group in his threat:

I hope everything you love is blown up by an Al-Qaeda terror cell, leaving you standing there, like a gimp.

But I know he is acting the idiot, albeit in a despicable way.Too many people on here just follow the status quo, they don't think for themselves, that's why the world has so many willing recruits to join terrorist organisations.

Sultan, your a friend of Slabber, but distance yourself from him for a minute and answer these 2 questions:

1/ You seems pretty clued up on British law.What's the law for making statments suchs as "I hope everything you love is blown up by an Al-Qaeda terror cell, leaving you standing there, like a gimp."

2/ For someone whom you suggest is "fighting a cause (racism)", surely making statements like the above seemingly only encourage the very issue you claim he is alledgedly fighting.

No-one is perfect, don't try and paint the picture of Slabber as some nice guy who has just been mis-interpretated.He has made many slurs against all kinds of nationalities, perhaps some like mine were tongue in cheek, but some were clearly poision.He was banned before, so he has got previous form.

Thanks for your input.I never knew Slabber was a barrister, it only makes his recent outburst all the more strange considering the legalities of what was stated in his rant.

He mustn't be much of a barrister if a mere construction worker like myself was able to get the better of him.I'll take it with a pinch of salt though, it's easy to make unsubstantiated claims on a board such as this.

I have to say I am a bit confused about this Slabber business and why he appears to ahev attained martyr status here.

For someone to take the high moral ground in relation to alleged racist comments and then make the kind of remark he did to Redjoe merely confirms to me that Slabber is indeed a waste of time. One might view his comments as "tongue in cheek" however I still would find his comment offensive. Unfortunately it renders any objections he has about what other posters say as rather hypocritical.

Frankly I've worked with many Barristers and none I've met either in the UK or Oz would have the ammount of time Slabber devotes to a footie forum. This leads me to the conclusion that the overly sensitive flower is probably a crap barrister because he doesn't seem to be getting much work. Or he may just be a bullshitter.

Either way I find Slabber's comments (joke or no joke) as offensive as anything I have read on this forum and have zero sympathy for him.
