Is it? says who exactly? You get massive publicity and make the sponsors very nervous. The club is only worth what it is because of the fans. Its only really been done for one match...Far to simplistic, this has been debated on here over and over. There's multiple reasons why boycotts are a red herring at this stage.
Yup, the protest should never have involved him - the focus must be kept on getting the glazers out, although I do understand the initial excitement around him.Bum.
That banner with his face plastered on it seems a bit premature now.
Radcliffe personally and/ or his company INEOS can definitely afford United, it would also not be a leveraged deal. He made a formal bid for Chelsea but missed the deadline. He has been looking to buy a top Premier league club for years, but United always his deam deal. Dont be an idiot.
No he was definitely interested and went to mee the Glazers. Not trying to be an ITK idiot but he also confirmed this at a conference yesterday. Has been looking to buy a top Premier league for several years, but his is a genuine Utd fan so that was his preference. He has now moved on.
The Glazer’s I am pretty sure want to sell to Dubai or someone larger. They will want other deals almost as favours for selling United I imagine.
Dubai can pay more than Jim and in all honesty the only way we can compete with City ‘on & mainly off the field’. Jim wouldn’t get us anywhere near to competing with City for off field influence.
Dubai as owners would and maybe the Glazer’s know this too.
I’m pretty sure Jim would bring very little to the table compared to the Saudi and UAE backed clubs in the league. He’s never proved he can do it especially against a behemoth like the City group currently.
This guy is not our saviour and never was if you want to build a dynasty.
but do they want that debt around their necks?Yeah but another mistake people make is thinking billionaires think about money in same way a factory worker thinks about a lottery win.
The assumption is 'who wouldn't want shit loads of money, lots of holidays and the life of luxury?' - but that's already the life they lead.
Surely if he buys the club, he buys the whole club... he's not just buying a teamDoes anyone know of what Jim's plans would be regarding the women's side of the club, as I haven't seen anything mentioned in that particular regard, only what might potentially happen with the men's side.
Yes. Clearly. That was their plan. They didn't have to buy the club and/or accumulate debt in the first place..but do they want that debt around their necks?
Not a great analogy - you end up (if you do things right and, I guess are lucky) owning the house or using it to get a new one... with some mortgages, the debt reduces month by monthYes. Clearly. That was their plan. They didn't have to buy the club and/or accumulate debt in the first place..
That's the other misconception - that they've been perpetually stunned by their own business model and looking for a way out.
That's incredibly unlikely too. It's like thinking someone who buys a house with a mortgage would, the second the first repayment demand comes through, resolved to find a buyer ASAP to get rid of the debt around their neck.
Unless they bought the club accidentally they're very unlikely to see debt as a motivation to seek a buyer
Haven't and doubt much would - Glazers have thick skin, live miles away, get dividends and value appreciation. They'll go when they want?Glazers aren't selling. They don't even feel a bit of pressure from some mickey mouse protests. United fans haven't found a way to hurt them in any meaningful way.
Yeah much as it pains me to admit only Dubai or some Chinese royal family would ever be able to offer anywhere near $10bn

The only (legal) thing I could see making a small difference is huge fan boycotts.. I'm talking empty grounds/few k. That might get media focus but season tickets are paid for so it's only the non season ticket income they lose, but a couple of mill, week after week MIGHT get somewhere. But can't see it happening as too many fans will take up tickets if spare.
I think we're stuck with them until some massive offer comes in. And that is likely to be from a country and from a limited few. Then all the comments on City, Newcastle, etc come to us..

The thing is that they could really get pissed off the way things are going and this might happen. They are the sellers and can sell to whoever they want.Yeah much as it pains me to admit only Dubai or some Chinese royal family would ever be able to offer anywhere near $10bn

Wouldn’t take that at face value necessarily.
Is the website paper-only or can we get a linkIts being reported on a site called caught offside the glazers are in talks with investors in USA to sell up
He met the glazers in person who said they weren't selling. What do you want?Who is worse?
The Glazers for royally trashing the club and not giving a flying feck
Or Jim Radcliffe, for giving the fans hope that they would get rid of their owners who have been royally trashing the club and not giving a flying feck. And then not actually doing anything about it
This Ratcliffe guy seems all over the place.
It was on newsnow ill see if i ca get a linkIs the website paper-only or can we get a link
