Sir Bobby Charlton has died

RIP :(
One of the most important and legendary people in our club’s history.

The finest ambassador the club has ever had, and probably ever will have.

RIP Sir Bobby

Very sad day :( Truly club legend, England legend and football legend. RIP.

What a privilege indeed.

Most meaningful player in the club's history.

Yes my friend.
I am feeling just like I have lost a close friend.
And I am absolutely dreading the day when the greatest manager of all time also is lost to us.

Rest in peace. I'm not formally English, but this man was the reason my father became a United fan in the 1960s, and that's why I am one today. Be at ease, Sir Bobby. You did a lot.

Excellent description.
He was all of those and more.
So true. I loved your post as well. Seeing Sir Bobby and that team in general live and in the flesh is something the majority of us United fans can only dream of. I'm glad you have those memories.

My parents and grandad probably have those memories, too. I'll have to ask. All I know for sure is that my mum was in love with George Best

Rest in peace one of greatest ever england produced in fact greatest ever.

‘66 and ‘68 were of course special, but I became a regular at Old Trafford a bit over two years before he retired so only caught the tail end of his career “live”. Apart from an amazing Best purple patch in the first half of 71/72 he was invariably our best player. Off the pitch he looked older than his mid-30s, but the effortless way he moved on it made him seem much younger.

Retiring when he did he missed the trauma of relegation. I’m not sure I’d go as far as saying he kept us up in ‘73, but he was our only footballer among a horde of cloggers. He would have fitted right into the team The Doc created a year later though.

Such sad news, Rest in Peace Sir Bobby. A giant of the gameX

this is turning into s shitty year..lost my best friend in January, my father last month and now this..

Feel for Sir Alex, not a great fortnight he has had. Wife passing and then a friend all in two weeks.

RIP good Sir

A gentleman, a legend and one of the absolute greatest to ever wear our jersey and be associated with the club, perhaps the greatest. A very sad day. The club have to do the utmost to commemorate his passing.

RIP Sir Bobby :(

A titan for United & England and Football in general.

As Pele was a legend in Brazil, Bobby Charlton was to England.

Sadly, he didn't experience another title win for us after Ferguson retired.

RIP Legend.

Rip Sir Bobby. One of the finest players and ambassadors of this club.
