Very well said. Thanks for that.Needless to say, we wouldn’t have our European Cup title in 1968 and England wouldn’t have their 1966 World Cup without him. However, without his bravery in resuming football after the tragic events in Munich, we wouldn’t have had Fergie and most of our post-Munich trophies too, simply because without him, the club would likely have been in a far too dire situation to get back to the top. We’d never have been able to attract managers of the calibre of Fergie and the world class players that came after him.
Quite simply, one of the most important people in our club’s history. Rest in eternal peace Sir Bobby.
To be fair most players today wouldn't know how to walk anywhere.Had the pleasure of watching him grace OT., he was a very skillful and graceful player, but also a very humble person who also knew that representing Manchester United was not a right but an honour and privilege gained by hard work and dedication. How many players today walking through a local park seeing a bunch of young lads wearing utd., shirts and having a kick about would join in for the fun of it. He did though.
RIP., and Thanks for the memories.
I look at it differently, A hugely important person in the clubs history has left us but the fact we have that and many more show the club is very much alive. The club is steeped in history which makes it so much more than some of the plastic stuff we see throughout the football worldIn the past week, there have been posts saying United have died but really a massive part of United has died today.
I am way too young to have seen you play but thank you for everything you did for this club and for your human heroics in Munich. You will never be forgotten at United nor should you be. Codladh sámh Sir Bobby

A huge part of Manchester United and English football has died today. To come back from Munich to win the World Cup and European Cup shines a light on the fact they just dont make them like that anymore. Imagine seeing all your mates and heroes die in front of you, to the point where you hair fell out in your 20s due to trauma. And to have that mentality to go on and do the things he did? You dont get them like that anymore.
