Sir Alex gets a statue at Aberdeen

Considering the way these things usually turn out, it's pretty good.

About time. Usually when people talk about SAF success as a manager they ignore his time and what he achieved at Aberdeen.

The old Trafford one is underwhelming.

Fergie never crossed his arms. Poor choice in Fergie mannerisms.

This is one is very good.

Hi achievements with Aberdeen were incredible. Beating the old firm regularly, winning a European competition. You could argue that these achievements are greater than those with Man Utd!

Very well deserved!

Was worried it's from the same guy that built Ronaldo grinning statue. Glad I was wrong.

I think what he achieved there was more incredible than what he achieved with us.

Doesn't everyone cross their arms?

We as fans and football people in general always talk about how Fergie made United great again but as most people on here know he was an established manager before coming to Manchester, winning all those titles in Scotland beating Celtic and Rangers to it, winning European trophies beating Real Madrid, Bayern etc. Club was patient with SAF during the late 80s but they were patient with a manager that proved himself before at other club, it was not a blind trust though probably many fans wanted him out before that Fa Cup win in 1990.

Anyways, well done to Sir Alex. Getting a statue at 2 different clubs is impressive though not surprising given how great he really is.

You're having a great time on this thread.
Maybe google the next thing you reckon Fergie never did? :wenger:

Arms crossing is a passive and distant pose.

When thinking of this great man do you think of these traits?

I think of winning , adapting and ruthlessness.

A statue of celebrating or even a stoic and stern look represent the great man better than an arm crossing dude that looks nothing like Fergie.

Absolutely not. He took United from a team that had won “only” 7 league titles to the top of the all-time winners list. He almost trebled the league wins and picked up 3 European trophies and a fair few domestic cups along the way.

He also did this by building 4/5 different squads.

What he did with us was incredible....imagining beating Real Madrid in a European final with Aberdeen. Or winning the SPL with Aberdeen ahead of Rangers and Celtic. No.
