they may be classed as micky mouse cups compared to CL but if we can't keep it tight at the back we won't win it this year
to me any silverware is better than none!!

what do you think

ps don't reply and say we are killing everone in the our group because none of them are any good

true they might not be any good but there in the champs league so they cant be that bad! Better than most of the teams in the prem thou! And if u start talkin about winnin mickie mouse trophies just for the sake of winning trophies your just as bad as them accross the mersey, Glory seekers an any trophie will do!

To your original question, i expect us to mke the usul effort for both trophys. Both are meaningless, bu the FA cup is "nice"
Why the gay wink?
Why no amazingly funny remark like the last time? Is the well of inspiration dry?

To think that SAF does not attempt to win EVERY game United play in is an insult to the legend.

SAF may put out weakened teams, but they are always capable of winning the game.

You gotta like guy.
Less than 10 posts and he's insulted some members on here and Sir Alex's attitude to cup competitions.

Maybe he missed the fact that Becks, Gaz and Scholes etc. started life in the first team in the Worthington cup. And he seems to miss the fact that we may win the Champions League

Fergie takes the worthington cup very seriously. He saves players from the other competitions all season long, just so they are extra prepared to compete in the worthington cup.

I'd hardly call the FA Cup a mickey mouse cup, no matter how hard the FA tried to cheapen it under the disguise of Manchester United plc.

Maybe he missed the fact that Becks, Gaz and Scholes etc. (just because there stars doen't mean they were world class when they were in the reserves (hey they were learning there trade like a million others)started life in the first team in the Worthington cup. And he seems to miss the fact that we may win the Champions League(didnt miss that one either and i think we may well win it but if we have a bit of bad luck(football's a funny game)i don't want to end up with nothing again!!!)

And how, may i ask, seeing that you seem to the expert, are the younger player supposed to learn their trade if they are not given the chance in the Worthington Cup.

And where did I say I disagree with the doing that? I think Fergie himself should play in the Worthless Cup.

its called the reserve's

if they only play in the worthy cup
what that 2 or three games a season they'd never learn anything apart from how to beat crap teams then lose to good teams
not what call good idea

:p :p

Keano made it clear in his book that the players don't care about the FA Cup, and I personally think that this isn't good, because defeats or victories in the FA Cup give confidence, or dent morale. I really think Giggs' goal in '99 was the springboard for the trophies that followed. You can't turn form on and off, and you get into bad habits if you don't take each game as seriously as each other.

What Neil was referring to was the FA cup and i was talking about the Worthington Cup. 2 completely different competitions you prat. The FA cup is the best domestic knockout competition in the world and the Worthington Cup is a chance to give the youngsters a run out in the first team

both still give silverware for winning and one's better than none

I think there's only so much focus and mental effort a player can put in. They've got to use it for the greatest trophies they are competing for.

Keano said this too: "Focus on the Champions Cup and everything will fall into place". Genius that man.

So we shouldn't be going for the FA Cup or the Worthington Cup. The only attention we should pay to the Premier League is to make sure we qualify for the next Champions League. The European Cup is the be all and end all of European football.

The Arse can call themselves kings of england for all I care. United have to be kings of Europe.
