Should they stay or should they go?

Not exactly.... If fergie can get all the players he want without the need to sell anyone, then I don't mind Veron stays here. As I've said in the other forum, Veron can only improve from last season. However if Fergie really need to sell, then I think selling Veron is the most benefit and has the minimum influence to the current team.

what?!?!?!?!?! you're the jackass who started this thread, you cuckoo ;)

* Chadwick - loan out
* Barthez - stay for 1 more season
+ Veron, Butt or Scholes - stay
+ Ole - stay
+ Phil - stay
+ Silvestre - stay
* Fortune - sell

I dont agree with Kenyon tying up the purse....sure we should not buy any more players for ridiculous money.....but we can still buy proven players which are needed as back-up for smaller amounts....

If we win 2 to 3 trophies this season it will pay for itself....

Besides all the players we bought recently are young and will be around for about 3 to 4 seasons before we think of filling those positions again...Rio is 23, Forlan is 23, RVN is 23 and Veron is 26.

We should get competition for Silvestre this season because we can always sell him next year for a bit and break even.

Not sure why so many want rid of Chadwick, our backup for Becks. I don't think Veron or Scholes was any good there last season, while Chadwick v. Sunderland I believe, was very good. He's a young lad, an england U21 and one of the best products from our youth setup for some time. I thought we wanted lads to come through? He's got a lot of natural talent, he just needs to stick some weight on and improve his final ball and finishing, but remember, Giggs is still having to do that today.

It's quite simple Neil, some folks around here are fickle, or have short-memories, or a combination of the two.

Simply because Luke's been out injured for a while, and therefore out of the lime-light, people have forgotten that he is a valuable squad member. And, as you pointed out, a great backup for Becks.

I reckon he's surplus to requiremnts seeing as string we're in midfield, and I don't think he will ever push the likes of Beckham for a place in the team, and he will never be good enough to replace Becks if he was ever to leave. So, considering he's worth a few bob, I'd prefer to cash in on him, and let some of the even younger players who might have more potential get a chance.

It's strange that you said our only obvious backup to the right wing position is "surplus to requirement", while on the other hand you think all our four (five if including beckham) centre midfielders should all stay.

Sell RVN to Real and with that money buy Vassel, Defoe and persue the rumoured Stam debt + $ for Crespo deal with Lazio. This way we have a world class striker plus two of the hottest English talents in the forward position.

Are you mental, u can't just get it on platter, this passion that RVN has to play for United.

Reading the Kenyon quote, he doesn't mention money, just the size of the squad. it would seem to me, that now dwight has gone, the funds will be there to replace him if needed.

How much do you think we'd get for Ruud then?

Don't confuse my question with respect for your statement however ;)

Crazy stuff. Remember the days when we were more or less able to put out two international-class sides? Those days have gone. Outsde the first team, we look increasingly threadbare. Now's not the time to make that worse.</strong><hr></blockquote>

We have 8 midfielders with plenty of first team experience. There's no way we're going to keep all those happy. We won't be selling any from Becks-Kenae-Veron-Giggs-Scholes-Butt, that's a fact.

Squad rotation is not a good option. It's making the team inconsistent.

And I also think that Forlan is a better option than Fortune or Chadwick on the wing.
