As a United fan I'm going to say yes, but not a chance in a hell he'd do such a thing.

It'd turn those who think the punishment is harsh completely against Rooney and add to the national pressure he's just managed to start to shake off.

But that's me being rational...I voted yes. feck off the FA.

Yes, why shouldn't he?

They have once again caved in to media pressure, and punished a player for no reason.

Yes.

Offer them an ultimatum, ban him and he retires. Simples. Then lets see how big the FA's balls are.

He should tell the FA there's too much swearing in the England camp and refuse to play for them until they've eradicated it.

That exact ultimatum is one of the main reasons people think Shearer's a cnut. Rooney doesn't need to go down that road.

Everyone already thinks Rooney's a cnut though. What's he got to lose?

Yes.

It's not like the neutral fans appreciate him anyway? He's booed in every stadium in England.

It's hardly likely to sully his character in the eyes of non United fans.

EDIT I like the way Sam said it better.

No I don't think so. I think with a few good young players coming through, we want him to make a real impression at the Euro's/world cup. I think he's earnt that after being unfortunate in the past with injuries. I think though Rio, hargreaves :D, brown, owen :nervous:, etc should. If Rooney helped win them the next Euros? Hopefully he'd retire early and blame it all on the FA and Media.

yes - should have after they upheld the red card in that friendly match during the Ajax tourney.

Get a grip its the FA charging him, not Capello.

He swore into a camera while playing for England at the World Cup. No charge.

Funny that.

Nah

I bet plenty would have voted 'Yes' regardless of todays decision

Why affect his national team's chances because of a few suits? It's not his team mates nor the coach's decision

A lot of unnecessary pressure coming our way from the FA these days. SAF's doing/did the no talking thing, Rooney should do the no playing thing, or at least threaten 'em with it

The FA’s other complication relates to an instance of similar behaviour on international duty. Following England’s disappointing draw with Algeria in Cape Town during the World Cup in last year, Rooney assailed a pitch-side camera to complain about fans booing the team. He also uttered a swear word as he marched towards the dressing room.

Desperate for a win against Slovenia to stay in the tournament, England’s management and the FA took no action. So, if Rooney is charged and banned now, United would have every right to ask why swearing in the white shirt of his club incurs a suspension, but swearing in the white shirt of England is permitted.

What's in it for him playing for England? It's just setting himself up for dog's abuse from every cnut in the country.

If he'd been born Welsh he'd be a better player and a much happier man.

Erm, no

He should however feel entirely free to go up to the dickheads who decided this was worthy of a two match ban, and repeat what he said over and over and over right in the cocksucking faces

I don't get the impression that Wayne particularly enjoys the whole England experience. And why would he - the dogs abuse he takes from the fans week in week out.
