Should Jon Walters be considered for the Ballon D'or?

I was only trolling the thread. Though.........born and raised in England and received his whole football education in England, he is at least a product of English football.

I know you were only trolling. And the grandparent rule means we've a bunch of players over the years with only a tenuous connection to Ireland. Walters was born to an Irish parent, though, and obviously feels Irish regardless of where he's grown up. I'm sure if you had a kid abroad you'd want them to be able to call themselves English (I'm assuming here that you're English!)

Regarding his football education, that's a fair poing but inevitable when you have such a huge disparity in resources between two football leagues in countries so close together.

It's beautiful! :')

Strong? Check
Fast?
Intelligent?
Great finisher?
Creative?
Takes penalties? Check

He's almost the complete package.

 This thread. But yes, clearly Ronaldo is on the decline, Messi is out injured so Walters is the obvious candidate.

He can play for whatever team he wants to. Hey, I was in favour of Adnan Januzaj playing for England. I am liberal on these matters. If he wants to honour his Irish mother he has done a good job!

Yes definitely. Walters first, Vardy second and Kane third

No doubt will be shafted just like Gary Breen. FIFA just don't like us. Always trying to put us down, even came in with their fog machines this time but we weren't having it.

I'm going to assume that this thread is a joke and other posters are just continuing the joke?
I actually had no idea who this guy was - I googled him to find out that he plays for Stoke.

Oh. and like others have said...yes, he should win the Ballon dor. ;)

This is no joke.

He was refusing to sign a contract with Stoke during the summer too, would have probably lowered the price if we had gone for him then.

Just shows the ineptitude of Ed Woodward.

So we waste all summer chasing Walters while more obtainable targets join other clubs? Embarrassing.

He signed a new deal with us a week or two back, obviously a wise move by the club to ensure we get a decent fee after the Euros.

With Ronaldo potentially on his way out Walters would be the ideal replacement for Real Madrid.
