I met him a few times when I lived in Bombay and he used to come over to party with the young bollywood brat pack. Very full of himself and completelt abused his body! That said, the bombay lovlies were all over him!

Like I said, a complete waste of talent and therefore should not be mourned. Brett Lee is the shining example of what Shoaib should aspired to and achieved.

Mike Atherton in one of my favourite players ever, prob my favourite England batsmen after David Gower. And I have alot of respect for what he achieved and everything he stood for esp as England captain. And he's a United fan too :devil:

So my point was certainly not a dig at him. Just a gentle prod at you :)

He was always out clubbing and pulling the ladies wherever he went.

You're probably right he shouldn't be mourned and go down as a great but he was a great bowler to watch on his day. There aren't too many with his and Lee's talent around these days.

I have plenty of Asian aquaintences through cricket and I've had this debate many times over (usually whilst staring out of the dressing room window into the rain!) I don't have issues with Asians exclusively, there's just no hiding that Pakistan imparticularly have a terrible reputation. Most of it deserved, a small part unjust I dare say..

Yeah, I used to love watching Ath, gave all his old gear to his brother Chris who plays in the local leagues... gives me plenty of ammunition for sledging!

Oh and while Im on the subject, match fixing and betting, why exactly did Alec Stewert REFUSE POINT BLANK to tour India in 2002? He was fit, in fine form and toured in the season before and the season after. The Indian police said they wanted to have enquiries with him ... he has enevr been back since.
