If I've got this right then going by raw stats Vidic had a very creditable record against Drogba, who managed:
1 goal and 0 assists in 3 CL matches
1 goal and 2 assists in 7 PL games (he got another assist in a 2007/08 season match but Vidic had been subbed off injured already)
1 goal and 0 assists in 1 FA Cup match
for a total of 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 matches against Vidic. In Drogba's defence I included matches when he came as a sub so those 11 matches weren't all 90 minute appearances for him.

Interestingly enough, Vidic and Drogba both rated each other as their toughest opponents

Overall, I felt Vidic acquitted himself excellently against Drogba and he'd be one of my first choices to come up against him. It's good to see Drogba getting such a prominent gig in an all-time draft though. The raw stats don't really do him justice, although he did have some prolific individual seasons. An absolute menace of a centre forward who required constant monitoring and created so much space for others as a result. He's certainly not out of place in drafts in the sort of battering ram role that Elkjaer is usually deployed in, dragging defenders around and creating space for an elite strike partner or AM.
