Sky interviewed him after the match and he called Newcastle "very poor defensively" but also called Man Utd "very poor defensively!

Firstly look @ the goals we conceded :

Bernard : Fluke
Shearer : Nobody in the world could have stopped it
Bellamy : Ok, one goal we could have prevented...

For him to say we were poor defensively is just <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> I thought we looked pretty good with Brown & Blanc in particular looking good.

we looked solid at the back..

they only scored one goal from regular open play... and that happened after Blanc went off.. we were left with a very young back line!!

I was going to make that point as well.

Is he saying his own free kick was defendable??

Maybe we did have a lapse in concentration and suffered for it - but on the whole we were solid.

the defence was good today until Blanc went off and they lost their concentration a bit.. nothing to complain about really.

Shearer's talks out of his arse as he often does

I think Brown played very well today. He must have reminded us how good he was, as recently many people think that our tomorrow CB must be Rio and O'shea. But Wes today proved that he has enough ability to claim the position himself.

Yeah, we were really tight at the back until Blanc went off. The 3 we've conceded doesn't really reflect our domination of the game.

Which is very good. That we'll have three great defenders, with Wes able to play right back, and O'Shea able to play everywhere in the back. And Silvestre played very well too.

You can't trust Shearer's judgement on anything. He chose Blackburn and Newcastle ahead of us, got 1 trophy and spent the rest of his time out of Europe and in the Tyneside dustbins.

Sooner listen to his dog!

Unfortunately a lot of the time the score line doesn't reflect our domination of the game. The attack did its job today which I am thankful for.

Shearer being the twat he is isn't going to take a swipe at his own defence without taking a swipe at ours as well anyway.

Whatever his dog is - mongrel, half-breed, hybrid, whatever, I still feel sorry for the poor bastard.

Its still only got one pot to piss in!

CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER UP AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALAN SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARER.............. ;)

Shearer is a fecking sexy bastard.

He also said he couldn't enjoy scoring 100 goals for the Toon because he lost. Ha fecking ha.

When will you realise that to Shearer it means more to play for his home town team than anything else?

I agree with you all on here that him saying today was about both defences being poor is a load of bollox....I thought MU's defence played really well and I have not seen Shearer/Bellamy/Dyer kept so quiet all season.

Good game to watch and a good win for you lot made all the better by other results.

Ps....what a shit pitch.

Yeh, what a miserable bastard. It seemed he didn't care, surely be proud that you have scored 200 premiership goals but no, nothing pleases him unless he wins.

Oh! So Southampton and Blackburn must be his 'home town' teams as well? It must have meant a lot for him to move to Blackburn instead of us then, musn't it? He's still only got one pot wherever his home town is. But then with you being a Leeds supporter living in Newcastle I can well understand your confusion!

It is your confusion - he chose to stay at BR and chose to go to his only hometown club rather than go to OT.

It was not a case of Shearer wanting to join MU cos he didn't Fergie wanted him and Shearer said no.

I for one am glad he never signed.

He is not a United type player.

No flair.

No class.

Shellsuited wanker.

he wanted to come.

but walker turned down our bid, coz he preferred Shearer to sign for Newcastle than us.. apparently our bid was one million more than there's.

We will have to agree to differ mate - I heard it differently.

I take it you forgot to put the winking smilie Gwyn....otherwise I would have to think you were a complete tosser.

actually, i kinda agree with him...

Alan Shearer was an excellent player BEFORE he got injured (achillies? ) he's been a shadow of the player that won the league with Blackburn..

glad we didn't sign him second time around... i think we missed out first time...

anyway......who cares? we've won, everything in sight.... unlike him ;)

you obviously didnt read fergies book so fook off

"Are you watching Manchester?"

Remember the twat singing this at the top of his voice at anfield when blackburn won the league.

I know he was an England man but so was denis wise.

He's a cnut.

Repeat MOT.

Shearer has no class.

I suspect that he does not have the healthiest views towards Irish people.

Keane, Gillespie, Lennon.

No class and limited footballer.

And most of all shellsuited wanker.

You have a weird idea of 'no class and limited talent'....this anti Shearer feeling for not signing for MU is so stupid but being blind to his obvious talents over so many seasons makes you look a real berk mate.

Shearer in a Red shirt would make me vomit.

Look MOT we signed Cantona, Cole, Yorke and Sheringham who were all better equipped for Europe.

Solskjaer is a better finisher.

And Shearer would have pushed out Mark Hughes which would have been too much for any Red worth his salt to bare.

Shearer is an arrogant and limited footballer.

Not United class.

And a shellsuited wanker.

Whether or not he would have suited MU is nothing to do with the mans talents.

If you can't see that you are more of a welsh tosser than I thought you were.

Welsh???????

And his talents are what?

Creosoting his back fence to celebrate Blackburn going top of the League (From Mein Kampf by Alan Shearer)

We don't need to call Shearer a wanker just because he decided to go to Newcastle. We don't have any god given right to snap up any player we want just because we are Manchester United.

Shearer is a wanker in his own right - full stop.

Defence looked secure- who wasn't playing- the diaster bros.

shearer's been the best finisher in the league for almost a decade, respect in my book, he's scored a few crackers in his time. I am disappointed he didnt sign for us but in the end we got Eric and he got feck all at toon.

I dont hate him for not signing for us, just the way the deal was conducted.

his agent told saf the deal was done to bring shearer to ot, according to one of sir alex's boooks, only for him to not answer our calls and in the end with no notice tell us he's signed for toon.

And if he'd signed for us would we still have gone for Cantona? Don't think so. In the end it turned out better didn't it? The point is that no British footballer in his right mind would have refused the pots that were on offer at OT. Shearer did and he's left with one pot to piss in instead of our alternative. If he doesn't regret this then he's nothing but the ABU 'hero' he seems to relish in. If he's not then his judgement, as I've said, is plain shite!

I was angry when he tried to make Barthez lose his concentration by standing in front of him .

As for the defence : Newcastle didn't have many occasions, but at the end they had at least two good occasions. We'll need to close the game against Liverpool and Arsenal.

Forgive me if I got you confused with somebody else called Gwyn from Farndon.

If you really need Shearers talents pointing out to you it says all you know about football...feck all.

Try reading some of the more balanced posters on here.

Shearer might not have joined MU but to question his abililty is pathetic.

There only a few players that can hold a ball up and bring team mates into play as well as he does or put the ball past Barthes from 25 yards or score 100 goals for Newcastle or score 100 goals for Blackburn or score 30+ goals for his country or captain his country or be voted PFA of the year twice or voted the Football Writers Player of the Year or win 3 golden boots or score 200+ Premiership goals or be the irst player to score 30+ PL league goals in 3 successive seasons...and on and on and on....

But then what the feck does anyone else know about football when we have you?

Don't forget your white stick mate

i think shearer was referring to Barthez as per the "poor defensive" comment.

Peter Reid is a guest this week on ESPN's Football Focus and he said

"i wouldn't rely on Barthez too much".

any thoughts?
