This comment is posted in every single youth thread, it’s beyond lazy. People are going to discuss him, it’s a consequence of playing for United. Yeah, statistically most youth players won’t make it at United, does it really need repeating in every single youth player thread?

True, maybe every OP can just include a disclaimer that the youth player in question more than likely won’t make it so my and Mylok’s comments can be prevented

NMNP - Next Messi, No Pressure
DGBWCT - Deffo Generational But Who Can Tell?
PWCPSL - Potential World Class, Probably Sunday League

I think @Mylock comment makes sense in this certain case. Lacey has been injured for a year but there are still non-stop discussion about him including comparison with Foden and how he is our answer to Yamal etc

How about just let him… well actually back to playing football and even prove himself at U21s level before bigging him up

Lacey or whoever is behind these posts should have some sense, lacey has barely played in the last year and still there messages. He needs to play and build a reputation build on performances not hype. Get on the pitch and start performing and cut the social media until you build up a genuine reputation.

So you’re saying he shouldn’t post anything while he’s injured? Why?

He’s tweeted four times since the injury in April. One of the tweets is about losing a close relative. One single instagram post after he got injured. How exactly is he building hype?

He already has a reputation hence what you are referring to as hype. Silly post hes hardly even posted on socials

Good reply to my message. I incorrectly took some of the messages that were been posted about Lacey as from his team.
look from what I've seen he does look a serious team and hopefully he'll reach the level we think he can but some of the posts from fans about him are overhyping him before he can establish himself, it's not his fault as fans get carried away. It's so common for united fans to think every kid is going to be the next great thing and then it doesn't work out.
He sounds like he's a good kid and is surrounded by the right people. Lacey with some luck and the right guidance can reach the top but we need to give him time to develop and not overhype him.
 
Good to see him back. Not gonna lie kind of winced when he got chopped down a couple of times on Saturday

But he was ok..
 
Looking at that second goal again, I don't think it'll go down as his. Keeper saves it onto the back of the Spurs defender.

Anyway, he was absolutely oustanding today.
 
He was very good last season before he got injured.

Fantastic cameo against Tottenham on Saturday. Hopefully he can stay clear from injuries now..

Talent wise he has it imo

IF he has the right mentality and strength of character to match he'll make it at United no question.

In terms of mentality and strength don’t worry he definitely has that
 
Great to see Lacey starting, hopefully he can push on with more starts and then gradually move to the u21s.
