Manchester United Surprise Fans by Triggering Extensions for Shaw, Lindelof, and Casemiro

In an unexpected move, Manchester United have activated the one-year contract extensions for Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, and Casemiro.

Despite lengthy injury layoffs for both Shaw and Lindelof, and ongoing speculation linking Casemiro with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League, United’s new manager, Rúben Amorim, and co-owner Jim Ratcliffe have prioritised squad stability as a foundation for rebuilding the team.

Shaw and Lindelof, sidelined for significant parts of the season, had faced uncertainty about their futures at the club, making this announcement somewhat surprising. Casemiro, who struggled for consistent form earlier in the campaign but has regained prominence recently, was widely expected to depart in the upcoming transfer window.

Club insiders indicate the decision aligns with Amorim’s strategy of blending experienced heads with emerging young talents, as United look to regain competitiveness domestically and in Europe.

April fools!

TBF, it had me! I went searching on X…

Should try only one of them. All 3 is too obviously not true

I’m not going to lie, the first 3 sentences had me absolutely seething. Then I copped on.

Someone needs to edit the fake twitter post and include a line "Man Utd believe Luke will be like a new signing next season upon his return"

Ive worked so much lately I completely forgot what day it is

My heart skipped a beat.. but the Tweet gave it away.

This is the first April Fool's joke I've fallen for in almost a year. Nice work.

April fools HA HA HA HA, almost killed me from laughter.... :boring:

Dang. You triggered my internal rationalisation as to why this may not be a bad thing.

Well, I fell for it, but it wasn't interesting or shocking enough for me to care much.

Therefore I win

Is it bad that I only really questioned the renewal of Lindelofs contract?

Not going for that. I know what you are and I know what the date is

I nearly left Lindelof out but left it in to see how @golden_blunder ’s ticker is holding up these days
