After the end of the 90's style of TV series we've seen quite a few shows that ended after only just one or two seasons. Among them there are bound to be some good ones. Any shows/series you didn't wanted to end but did?

I really enjoyed "Jack & Bobby". About 2 brothers growing up with a single mom, and along the episodes they showed clips of one them that had grown up to be the President of USA. Always had a good feeling after each episode. Don't really know why, but I think it boils down to the fact that I also grew up as one of two brothers.

Give me yours :)

Yeah that was the one. Only 3 episodes were aired in the US but a total of 8 episodes were actually made. The other 5 are available on the net somewhere I think.

I love heist type movies/shows. Was a shame it got canceled. There was also a show the same season about 2 lawyers, one of them was Adam Goldberg. Was a funny show, only lasted 2 episodes. It seems if shows aren't a hit right off the bat, they have no chance anymore.

Was about the bowling alley lawyer in a town called stuckeyville? Not sure anyone here knows about the show..

But always liked the show and hoped it would go longer than 4 seasons.

It's a sad state of affairs, especially when quality scripted programming gets canned in favour of much cheaper to produce reality tv. It comes down to luck as much as anything I reckon. Something like 24 had a slow start but international interest and the backing of certain TV execs kept it on the air.

I really wish Smith had had more of a chance. I love heist movies as well, and this show showed the planning in much grittier and more calloused detail than the more romanticised versions we're used to seeing. I have a felling this may have been a part of its undoing though, what with audience testing likely showing that viewers never really cared for the characters themselves. If TV companies had a bit more balls they might realise that audiences are intelligent enough to look past the likability of characters and appreciate a good show for what it is.

I used to watch that, mainly for Julie Bowen. 4 seasons was a pretty good run I thought.

The West Wing
Studio 60
The Office
Extras
Two Guys And A Girl
Sports Night
News Radio

And lots more I can't remember......

There's pretty much nothing good on tv any more.

Buried with Lennie James from 2003

Boomtown with Donnie Wahlberg from 2002

Friends.

I know it lasted for 10 series but it could have went on for even longer.

Fawlty Towers - 12 Legendary episodes, should have been more!
Only Fools And Horses - One of the best shows ever made.
Friends - Went on for 10 seasons but could have gone on a lot longer.

Was a great show the first 3 seasons. Thought it lost its way a bit the last season.

I loved Studio 60 until they started to show the comedy sketches. They were so awful I couldn't believe for a second that this show would be a hit. That completely ruined the show for me.
Was that the show with the pizzaplace?
Yes it was for the first two seasons I believe, then Pete and Berg quit working there, so no more pizza place.

Father Ted - so sad, one of the best comedies ever imho.
Open All Hours - Barker, Brilliant.

I think they were supposed to be awful, it was a satire of the watered-down stuff like Saturday Night Live etc, which seem to be 'funny' on reputation alone. Either that or they were just shit, and I've massively over-thought this.:)

Traveler - was on last summer, about two college students who were framed by there housemate for a terrorist attack and went on the run, all double crossing cops and government conspiracy. Wasn't amazing but was good fun and deserved a second series.

Spaced - enough said

American Gothic - dark and eerie with the devil working in an american town as the sherrif. Starring Gary Cole the Americans didn't understand it.

Errie Indiana - Probably the best show for that age group ever. Omri Katz has the best name ever, apart from Dikgang.

Firefly - Han Solo the tv series, brilliant.

Jekyll - The story came to a conclusion but I liked it enough that I wish it had been dragged on longer than the 10 or so episodes they made.
