I've just got nostalgic for this old game of magnificence, and decided I want to play it again. I did own it years ago, no idea what happened to it! Does anyone know where I can download it from?

There's a 2006 version if I'm not mistaken.

Which is utter dogshit. Avoid at all costs.

If you have an Xbox you can download SWOS 96/97 (a port of the Amiga version) on thier arcade thingy. Cost about £7.
I'ts just as good as it ever was and there are a fair few people playing online. I'm in an online league which is just about to sart it's 3rd season (we've got 4 leagues of about 15 players per league).

Honest to god my copy of PES2008 gathers dust while SWOS gets played all the time.

Annoyingly the teams are form 1996 so Chelsea have Andy Myers and David Hopkin playing for them.

ah Sensible Soccer - those were the days!
does anyone remember there was some Man United game around too on the Amiga? it had a side on view rather than overhead

Did you follow the Readme file?

Hehehe no, I have now though!

Still not bleeding playing, I haven't set up keyboard controls right. But I am able to listen to 'Goalscoring Superstar Hero' oncemore, what a tune that was! i love my pro evo, but the music on those games is rancid. SWOS had it minted :D

What do you mean 'guys'?

I'm the only one who bloody helped!!

Hehe, Duffer aided too

Gah I'm stuck, I have all the controllers working now, and I've bid for Stoichkov from Barca. They'll accept 3.5million, but I've forgotten how you add amounts of money to your bid :wenger:

EDIT hehe you hold control and the direction buttons. Cantona and Stoichkov up front, have some of that! :D

Tell you what, I picked those controls back up straight away. You never lose it eh!

1-1 draw against Leeds my first match back after about an 8 year absence, and I missed a penalty! Stoichkov on debut

The next few days are a write off...

I'm so excited! I'm not sure I'm gunna bother going to bed tonight now...

Funny how it all comes back to you. I just remembered to sign Dan Eggan from Brondby, a legend on SWOS, his value is always sure to go up

I've forgotten how to make substitutions, I just had to play almost 90 mins with a crocked Ronny Johnsen in defence

Thankfully I was only up against Savo Milosovic and the game finished 0-0...

I remember thrashing teams 8 or 9 nil in the past. Give it 20 minutes or so :)

I always used to have Collymore (before he went to Liverpool of course) and Cannigia, who were both brilliant on the game

tap to the left 3 times

this game is the reason I am only eggjewcated to a secondary school level, spent the first year of college playing this

we used to have slow motion games of this too, where we would weight down the f1 key which would cause the game to go in to a strobe effect

could score some crazy goals with that on

Outstanding. I was looking for this just a couple of weeks ago, i found the 2006 version which is shite and eventually gave up.

I loved this game as a kid and have very fond memories of it, downloading now :D

I used to own a Mega-CD and a demo of Sensi came out for it, you could only play 90 second matches but me and my mates played that demo more than any game I can think of at the time. You can't beat Sensi.

Anyone else that can still play this on a real Amiga? :D

At the recent SWOS world cup event in Germany they played on PC's, 360's and Amiga's.

Also a lot of the 360 players have modded their xbox controllers to use old amiga ones. If i could get an old competition pro joystick on my 360 i'd rule the SWOS online world!

Best football game of all time, for me. Shame they'll never be able to recreate it in on next gen with any justice to the original.

It's on the 360 and apart from the controllers and sligtly better graphics it's the same game as SWOS 96/97. It's not a new version of it, it's a direct port.

Really? I suppose it feels weird playing it with a pad instead of joystick.

My joy is shortlived :(

Playing it last night, I started to get real pains in my left arm. I can hardly move the damn thing today, and when I do its horrific!

This was not the way to find out I'm finally getting old. Not the way at all :nono:

Playing it again has reminded me how incredibly annoying the computer is when it 'decides' you are going to lose the game.

Every single one of your shots is saved, and every one of their shots either goes straight in the top corner, or is spilled by your keeper.

Also, playing it with keys makes certain types of goals that I used to score with ease on my amiga, very hard to do.

I had my Amiga 1200 hooked up to my telly just for Sensi until it came out for 360. Have you tried the 360 version? It's an exact clone of the original, played it more than anything else I reckon.
