Selling Players

We wouldn't find a buyer for Vidic at £20m that easily unless it was one of the rich Russian sides. Carvalho went for €8m.

Carvalho is 3 years older. I think that sugar dady clubs like Anzhi or PSG would get him for that amount in a heartbeat, while I Real could be an option too.

Anyway, it is embarrassing to suggest that we should sell him.

It's less embarrassing than suggesting that we can get £20m for him.

Players aren't the same after serious knee injuries, especially at his age. I wouldn't mind us selling him and buying a younger CB. Hummels would be my number 1 choice.

Vidic easily for 20mil while you get Hummels for 30mil? I'd love to know how you get to this conclusion.

One was the best defender in the world before injuries, the other is an exciting talent but that hasn't been proved that much in the big stage yet. Also, sugar dady clubs are very interested to sign big name players so I really think that if we want we can sell Vidic for that amount.

Dortmund will not sell Hummels, unless he hands a transfer request. But if he does it, I don't think that he will be sold for more than 30M, simply because if he decides to change clubs he will want to go to a bigger club, not to a shit club who just won the lottery.

Even if we somehow found someone willing to pay 20mil for Vidic, there's no way we'd Hummels for that amount. This is after we decide not to give him a chance to get back to anywhere close to his best which would be stupid considering how bloody good he was. Get him at 80% of that level and we'd have a very good defender.

Regarding Rooney, you wanted a CM. Rooney doesnt play there, he plays further forward. If you dont want him there, we have Kagawa. Why's there a need for a new AM? If you actually want a CM, why do you need to sell Rooney to buy one? I ask again, do you think lack of funds is whats stopped SAF from buying a CM?

Even if Vidic does get back to 80% of his best he's 31 so how much longer could he sustain that level? You're saying yourself that money isn't why we haven't bought a new CM so I wasn't basing buying Hummels being funded on the sale of Vidic. I truly think someone like PSG would have no problem paying 20mil for Vidic, clubs on the ascendancy like that are willing to overspend on well known names in order to gain a sense of prestige.

With Rooney, I never said to buy an AM, I said a CM. Rooney doesn't play CM but he does a lot of work CM would do that help cover up the deficiencies of our other midfielders. Why not just buy an actual CM and allow Kagawa to play in his natural position?

And no, I don't think a lack of funds is why we haven't purchased a CM, I honestly have no idea why we haven't bought a CM yet. We don't NEED to sell Rooney to get a CM but like I said, I feel we have too many options for strikers/AM and with Rooney and RvP being guaranteed starters one of them should go.

I basically had this argument all summer, only at that time it was on why we shouldn't buy RvP.

He was 32 when Real bought him. Vidic will be a month short of 32 when next season starts.

Definitely, you're one of the most negative people on here, so you shouldn't be surprised when I completely dismiss your ramblings.

It wouldn't be so bad if you were a half empty kind of guy and the rest of us were half full, but you're a half finished type of guy, and the glass is cracked, chipped and made out of plastic, and the liquid is fecking poison.

He told you how it is, you're a lunatic if you think anyone would pay, or have to pay £50m for him.

I'm not sure if I'm sufficiently negative so that my opinion is disqualified, and I don't at all WANT to sell Vidic, but if we got an offer for £50M from a side Vidic would go to (as opposed to an Anzhi), we'd snap their hand off, which is beside the point, as no one (not even an Anzhi) is going to be offering £50M for Vidic.

I would say Nani for 10-12 mil. Has to be to a 'bigger' club like Real Madrid where he could be a really important squad player. Or maybe to Milan for 8-10 mil where he will surely be first XI but I don't think he'll want to go there though. I can see him wanting to stay as well considering Young's form.

And Macheda for 2-3 mil. Probably to West Ham, Blackburn or Molde. Problem.is nobody bid for.him.so far.

I wouldn't really want anyone sold, but objectively if i had to cull a few to make funds available for alternative signings, then i would probably look at it this way.

Young is the one who i would choose to get rid of out of our wingers personally. It's not that i don't rate him, but he is not as good a winger as Valencia, and nowhere near as talented as Nani. I struggle to see why we would spend near £20m on him in the first place tbh.

Macheda, Bebe should be sold. Giggs and Scholes should retire, they are simply too old now in my view. Other than that it would really depend on the types of bids we were to recieve for the likes of Vidic, maybe even Evra and Carrick considering their ages. Bids upward of £10m for any of those would surely have to be considered imo.

The market's inflated though, players are going for crazy prices constantly.

The point was I don't think selling him is a good idea at all, not even slightly. Not that I think he's worth 50m, in sentimental value he's worth twice that.

Back the track eh?

I'm not negative, but I'm also not a spastic who lets their red tinted glasses and need for other posters liking them get in the way of realities when it comes to this club.

You couldn't get my motivation for calling you out any more wrong. Yes, of course I'm biased, and no I don't give a feck whether you like me or not.

We're done here, move on son.

Grow up you pair of tarts and take it to PM
