I know we dont need to sell, but what if we need/want to, which 2 players you think we should sell in January or the coming summer? And how much can we get for them realistically? Let's assume the 2 wanna leave, reluctantly or by choice.

Nani. £20m if it's Zenit, PSG or another club that pays these prices, £15m if it's a normal club.

I can't see anyone else leaving.

Nani - £20-25 million
Macheda - £1 million

Vidic and Nani.

Nani's contract situation has been well documented and if we are looking to sell him then we should sell in the summer. I'd rather him stay but if he's not signing the contract then we should cash in on him in the summer, although the fee may not be what most fans would expect. £18 million.

Vidic's injury will really affect the rest of his career I think. Although he's never been one for pace and so the cruciate injury won't be a factor to his style of defending, it's the kind of injury that at 31 really takes it's toll on a player. What doesn't help is that he's played on from it before he's fully recovered, and although that may have been great for the short-term it will have done nothing positive about his long-term role at the club. He's still got the label of a world class defender, and I think we should sell him before he has a chance to prove he's anything otherwise. £15 million.

Somehow I think Nani would be the popular choice here. That's why I try to provoke for two players.

Silly thread by the way, any threads like this are bound to get filled with aggressive comments about our players and turn into angry debates eventually.

I wouldn't take anything less than £25m for Nani. Yeah, he's going through a poor spell, and we don't know if his game will ever return (which is shocking to say, considering his age), but selling him for £20m could look utterly stupid if he does hit his peak.

Similar for Vidic, £25m for him. If he gets back fit he's one of the top defenders in the world. Sadly, we've got neither Vidic nor the £25m at the moment, and with his increasing age, I'm not sure we ever will.

Anderson could go for me, but again, I wouldn't want us taking anything less than £15m. He is still quite young, we don't know what the future has for him.

Get rid of Macheda. Just, get rid. Throw his bus fare in. There is absolutely no purpose for him in this squad.

Sadly I know we wouldn't get anything like the three fees above if we were to sell them.

Just for discussion here. No big deal. We are all big enough for these type of talks.

Why the shit prices for United players?

In todays market, Nani's worth at least £40m and Vidic, VIDIC is worth a feckton more than £25m. Anything less than £50m should be laughed at.

That's IF we had to sell them, which I'd rather we didn't, because they're United players.

Macheda would go for feck all really. If we could get a decent fee for Young I'd take it, and depending on Nani's contract situation it might make sense to sell if he won't resign. Can't see us getting much more than £20million.

Vidic is 31 years old.

Yeah Toma, £50m, definitely.
Definitely, you're one of the most negative people on here, so you shouldn't be surprised when I completely dismiss your ramblings.

It wouldn't be so bad if you were a half empty kind of guy and the rest of us were half full, but you're a half finished type of guy, and the glass is cracked, chipped and made out of plastic, and the liquid is fecking poison.

Nani's worth a lot more than £20M but with his current contract situation we're not going to get those sorts of prices for him as other clubs know that he is for sale so they won't bother making high bids.

Even if he was on a 4 year contract he wouldn't be worth close to £40million though.

Ramblings? Stating that a 31 year old defender who hasn't played football in the best part of a year would not go for £50m?

Riiiiight...

There's no need to be a snide little bitch, by the way.

We'd be lucky to get £20m for Nani with his contract situation, we paid £24m for van Persie and he's a different class. As for Vidic, no defender in the world has gone for more than £35m and you think we're going to get £50m for a 31-year old defender that has been pretty average after an injury.

Even if he was on a 4 year contract he wouldn't be worth close to £40million though.

In the top form he might have been a £30m player but I doubt it. Hazard has gone for £28m, Mata cost slightly more than £20m and Cazorla cost £15m, Silva went for £23m. Just because we paid £17m for Young doesn't mean it should be a benchmark.

Exactly, you can add Valencia to that as well at £16million. Saying that Nani would go for £40m is really excessive.

How many players have gone for £40m? We've only really come close to £30m a few times - Veron, Ferdinand, Rooney - and we are one of the richest clubs in the world. Real have paid more for the likes of Figo, Zidane, Kaka and Ronaldo but none of them are at Nani's level.

Nani is a good winger but he's not in the top bracket of players around the world. With a year and a half left on his deal we won't be getting more than £20m.

Have a word Tom. Nani of two seasons ago, possibly. Possibly. Anyone who's watched his last 12 months isn't paying £40m for him.

Vidic is something else. At no point in his career has he been worth £50m. He's 31 (on the down slope), and seemingly perpetually injured. You'd need infinite money to consider paying £50m for him. Remember that five players in the history of football have gone for £50m or more.

You wouldn't sell any of them then, no one is going to pay £25m for Nani or Vidic, or £15m for Anderson.

Like I said.

Rooney - 40mil
Vidic - 20mil

I'd be very surprised if Vidic ever gets back to his best, might as well cash in while we still can. Rooney isn't near as crucial to our team now that we have RvP, sell him and buy a midfielder or two and we'll be better off than we were before.

This is why these threads are never a good idea.
