Selling our players

The more serious problem might now be De Gea getting tapped up to join Real Madrid whilst on international duty.
Now that Spainish Coach Lopetegui has agreed to join Madrid after the World Cup we need to seriously consider this might actually happen, even though all United Fans would be completely against such a move!

At the moment, still looks like the likes of Rojo, Shaw, Darmian, Blind, Fellaini and co will be going into next season as Man Utd players. Some other average players still look like they will be starters. I'm talking about the likes of Young, Tony and Jesse.
Just over a month to go.

 Jesse Lingard who is having a great WC! Ok

I reckon we will see a few exits yet. Wouldnt be surprised to see Mata/Blind moved on without a big fuss.

Depressing read. When we hired Jose I was really looking forward to see him ruthlessly weed out the average players and replace them, 3 years on it looks like all most of those average players are his favourites. Its been my biggest dissapointment with his reign so far

Probably already mentioned in this thread but will be repeated regardless:

1. Most of our "average/deadwood" players still have time remaining on their contract, with well over average wage. Knowing that this, probably, will be the last time in their carrer with wages at this level, they will not be motivated to taking a wage cut to play regularly for a smaller club. Meaning that we would have to pay some of the difference in the wage cut for the remainder of their contract with us, in addition to replacing them.
2. Seeing how little/poorly they have played for us does not make them attractive in the transfer market. Making it hard to aquire interested clubs, or get a fee similar to that we paid for the player.
3. Seeing that United have some players that does not serve a function or are not needed at all, the interested clubs try to pressure the price down, forcing us to lose more than we we want for the players. And only "incompetent" clubs like Everton/Sunderland etc are interested in paying good money for our players.

Additionally:
1. Clubs owning players we want to sign know we can pay large sums, so price goes up.
2. Players signing for us will be paid similar to what players of the same level in the club are being paid(more than fair in most cases).
3. If the acquired player does not perform or develope, then we will have the same problems as mentioned above when selling the player.

Vicious circle

A little surprised about the lack of activity or reported interest in new players.
Could it be the fact that we are unable to sell some players?
Need to sell Mata before getting a forward in.
Need to sell shaw and/or darmian before getting an LB.
Need to sell a cab or two before getting a cb

With,
Di marZio saying that we have offered Mata to Inter.
There being news about United listening to clubs regarsing Darmian and Rojo.
I really hope United are able to sell these three players, cause we as a squad need to move on.
I am glad we did not sell Andreas and managed to loan out Joel for a whole season.
If we do get our CB and sell just Rojo. We still will have 5 CBs, and none of them will be a youngster who would just be happy training g with the first team and getting a few sub appearances.

Board/Woody does not want to sell players with a loss, or paying part of their salary when they are not owned by the club.
And since Woody/board hands out major contracts to hobbits and cretins, it is difficult to sell them.
Since we need to sell before we can buy, then we have a big problem.

Manchester United Business Club where all decisions are made by businessmen.

Sell for beans = get stick

Attempt to sell at a higher price in line with rival clubs = get stick

I think that's about right, isn't it?

Certainly look so likeWoody controls th purse strings even down to selling price, all the time he has the major function of share price/sponsors/owners lackey and balance sheet we will continue to lag behind in building a challenging team. The need to rebuild has been an issue emanating from the last few years of Fergies reign.

JM is a winner , despite some of his playing styles, but he has to get rid of the dead wood and continue to move the pot plants on and replace them to win. By the way, these snowflakes like Pogba and his manager, who seem to wither and wilt at any criticism are symptomatic of today's me society. He needs to work hard to show the manager and the fans what he is capable of.
