Scott Parker | Burnley Manager

He's awful. Maybe there's potential but he needs to do more time in the lower leagues.
He's taken 2 teams from the Championship to the PL so I don't think more time is needed, to a certain extent he's a victim of the lower PL clubs sack as soon as there's a danger of being relegated mantra - the reality in the PL, for most managers is, if you lose a few games your job's on the line and the chairman/owners pull the trigger

I’m sure this thread pops up every 3 months

Should build a nice little niche for himself in getting, or trying to get relegated teams or upper Championship teams promoted. Resign with a bonus payout. Rinse. Repeat.

The “Sacked” in the thread title, is it from today or one of the earlier times in the season?

Thought they were hiring Scott "Champions League" Parker when in fact they hired Scott "Championship" Parker.

Obviously something was lost in translation during the hiring stage.

Club Bruges is a level way beyond championship. I m a Belgian and it was a miracle for Bruges to perform like they did in the group stage. The coach by that time was also sacked… because they were 4th in the division.
These clubs in Belgium doesn’t want to succeed in Europe. They want to play in Europe only for the money income. Being first, champions, is not for pride. It is for money.
Don’f forget also that Anderlecht has sacked Kompany… and look what he does now with Burnley.
So getting sacked by Bruges doesn’t mean Parker is a bad manager. It’s a bad league with few good players.

Bit like Neville at Valencia.

Bizarre appointment and will once again set back perception of English/British coaches abroad.

IMO likes of Howe, Potter and Rodgers would go good jobs abroad at the right club but for some reason only ones that actually get the jobs are totally unsuited to it.

"Bizarre" is the word. Not exactly a cultural fit, is it.
