West Ham already had a £30m bid for JWP rejected last week.
He is also going to cost £40m+.

It's Ornstein. Not quite Stone, but it's a definite offer. They've moved on, and its pretty much done. Unless we come back to WHU with a substantially reduced price on what we'd accept, we're lumbered with Scott, and the whole smart-strategy has ended in the outcome many of us here directly predicted...Come on, surely you guys can see through the obvious gaming of the press by both sides?
No white text?Rashy would be a good start

Hearing they may have moved onto James Ward Prowse as we’re overpricing McT
Or…and here’s a wacky idea…ETH doesn’t want to sell him as has been briefed by every journalist this entire summer. It's Ornstein. Not quite Stone, but it's a definite offer. I don’t think it’s done. JWP is also £40m. They will need to cough up that amount either way and I think Moyes prefers McTominay. We've fecked this one up royally.
To think someone was actually prepared to pay 30 million pounds for Scott fecking McTominay and we got greedy.
Absolute bellends.

JWP will not replace Rice at all. If they don't sign Mctominay they're losing out not us.We've fecked this one up royally.

Certainly a smarter strategy than selling players for far less than their true value. In the interim cheer yourself up with the following tidbits;
1. Ward-Prowse is not a done deal yet so nothing is decided
2. The window is still open for another 23 days so plenty of opportunity for Scott to move if our valuation is met
3. Amrabat is replacing Donny/Fred so this has no impact on our planned transfers
4. If Scott is sold we will need a replacement and 30M isn't getting you much in this market
Scotty doesn't just fail the eye -test, he's someone who basically every serious football journalist as well as performance analyst would tell you to dump like the proverbial bad stock if you want to play like ETH sets out to play. That he's still at the club is a failure of whatever reforms they've implemented thus far (or at least a failure of them to start working effectively): I have to believe, based on the evidence of what he's so far tried to do with the style, with bringing in new players, and with setting standards, that ETH isn't primarily responsible, otherwise that would be a black mark on his judgement far above the debates around his handling of Pellistri or Amad, for instance. I don't think MCT's an awful player but there's a consensus about his limits and particular faults which is shared by all but the most 'pashun-merchant PFM pundits as well as Top Reds.Or…and here’s a wacky idea…ETH doesn’t want to sell him as has been briefed by every journalist this entire summer.
I always thought it was the other way around.I always thought Paqueta was poor man’s Fred…
Opinions differ, it’s normalI always thought it was the other way around.

Such different players, Mctominay is made to replace Rice.
Nice wisdom but some news for you, they have already replaced Rice.JWP will not replace Rice at all. If they don't sign Mctominay they're losing out not us.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're after both anyway, Souceck is terrible.
Paquetta for £70m.. tough for West Ham but sorry you have to snap their hands off at that price. He's not been impressive when I've watched Brazil, and he was hit and miss at West Ham. Supposedly had a great game against City though.
If West Ham want to sign Ward Prowse for £35m instead of Mctominay, that's their loss. I'd much rather keep Mctominay, he's a very useful squad option.
A midfield of Alvarez (who apprently is defensively great but terrible at passing) and an average JWP isn't going to do them any favours. Mctominay at least is basically an upgrade version of Soucek.
Romano confirming City interest in Paqueta. Sort of amazing West Ham could get 180m plus for a midfield that nearly got relegated. Then again Southampton are getting 80m plus for one that did.

Yeah I don't really see the rush to let McTominay go. He's a decent player and can fill in just fine. Maguire is a bigger issue because his confidence is shot.

And we have United "fans" here who think we should sell McT for 30m even though he was a starter when we finished 3rd and 2nd and is just entering his prime.
McTominay if he was playing for Southampton would be going for 50m.
What would you consider a fair price?
Is he? McTominay is awful at protecting the back 4.Such different players, Mctominay is made to replace Rice.

That looks a better balance. I know nothing about Alvarez but if he has a defensive profile it adds up. McTominay needs some freedom to use his athleticism to break forward. Should be a better Soucek. It looks a good midfield and I think it'd compensate for Rice.Alvarez is the designated DM, McT would be a B2B #8 running a lot while West Ham player Paqueta [citation needed] would be the 10. Not sure they could have Ward-Prowse in their current system but they could change their plan to a back 3 with Maguire. McT and HarMagz would be decent target men for JWP set pieces.
Best case scenarios theorized.
Martial.
For FFP purposes wouldnt it be best to sell McTominay for a bit more than Maguire?
(example 40+20 instead of 30+30)
