Said it before and said it again, he is a box to box midfielder, not a DM.
obviously the opposition were poor tonight, but I think McTominays capacity to contribute in an attacking sense is vastly underrated. He is good in the air and has a strong shot, and usually a good finisher when given the chance to show it.
not suggesting he should be our new #10, but I think signing a proper DM in the summer to free up McT (or Fred) should be a priority.
Also football gods were on his side today, was very lucky to escape serious injury.
My favorite play wasnt even the goal. It was that direct pass he made where he faked it out wide then put it straight to Martial/Fernandes. Need more of that because it can easily disorganize a compact defense
Can't say if he's still growing, but that foot gets more dynamite with each screamer. Is he still growing?! When the team gathered around him to celebrate his goal it was like pre-school kids around the teacher.
Not his toughest match, but was pretty imperious.Absolutely flinging in passes to their box.
The weight of his passes was phenomenal, where did that come from? Switches of play, passes through the lines... he should be doing this every week
Yeah, it’s fortunate that it didn’t catch his knee.Might of been seriously hurt in that bad tackle at the start, but he went on to play a magnificent game.
Grew into it and totally commanded the midfield in the 2nd half.
I gave Shaw MoM in the 1st and Scott MoM in the 2nd.
