Because people hate Jose Mourinho and thought they understand football better than him.
 
McTominay and Fred seem to be a good combination against big teams (PSG and Barcelona). I think it is about time we try it against a smaller team now.

McTominay and Fred were brilliant today. Shame our strikers were crap today.
 
Fantastic! I want to scream at times at him because he looks like he'll lose the ball, but he always does something to keep it while doing relaxed doing it. I like him.

He was fantastic I thought, offensively, defensively, everthing, even dribbled through 3 Barca players. He should be a starter from now on. He's really growing on me and is claiming his spot strongly.
 
He always gives a great interview. Seems like a cool guy.

Stood tall tonight. Was very confident and well up for it. More quality on the ball will come over time as he settles his nerves, but he was great tonight.
 
He could have had his own slot on Soccer AM's Taxi section in the second half alone. Made the Barcelona players look daft.
 
What a player from our academy we have on our hand. He plays like he belongs to this level, while some of our senior players aka Young shite their bed in such level.
 
fecking brilliant from McTominay. I mean he looked as polished as any of the Barca’s midfielders.

He’s 22 and if he can work hard on his game, with a bit of luck, he might just turn into a good player.

Love him, was great tonight, and has been decent in basically every game since Ole took over. Hope he can continue developing into a fine player for us.
 
Scotty Mac came of age for me tonight. A fantastic performance and if he keeps growing (physically and mentally) we could have a proper beast on our hands. Loved his harassing of Messi and the midfield.
 
Expected tbh from his recent performances, Unfairly dropped against Wolves in the FA cup game.
 
Man of the match along with Smalling. Great performance!
 
Played really well but absolutely mental that people are giving him MotM over Fred.
 
What a player. I haven't been his biggest fan, but he showed some serious balls tonight. Good passing in the final third, shielded the ball well, pressed the Barca midfielders and won the ball back several times.
 
Composure shown by him under Barca pressure was really impressive, long way to go but that was a really good performance.
 
Big reason why we aren’t giving Herrera the money he wants. Huge potential in this lad
 
good game, just wish his positioning and pogbas would be switched a bit. Always seemed to be pogba deeper with mctominay further forward.
 
Should be starting ahead of Matic for the rest of the season in that position.
