I'm just hungry for some horror movies, but there is so much crap on tv or dvd, I dont really know what really scares the shit out of you? Anyone?

That sex tape Chyna did. 'roid clits :nono::(

I haven't found a film scary since I was a kid. I watched Alien when I was about seven and it gave me few nightmares.

Although this isn't a scary film (Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me), this scene freaked me out when I saw it:

Have to confess I was shitting it watching Event Horizon when they play back the footage of the crew all possessed, raping and killing each other. That was some dodgy shit

House of a 1000 corpses is pretty messed up. I wouldn't recommend watching that without a couch to hide behind

I would imagine that the Exorcist would be scary, or though I've never actually seen it.

Most modern Horror movies are shite. The exorcism of Emily Rose was quite freaky though.

American Werewolf in London was one of the films as a kid scared the shit out of me.

These days its not the gore etc that does me in, its the quick camera shots that make you jump.

Watched a film with the wife a few nights ago - descent its called. Cheap shit film, but it made me jump.

I've seen literally thousands of Horror movies over the years, but still to this day one of my favourites is the Original Poltergeist. "They're here!" Wicked film

Anybody seen the Japanese movie Audition? That is a way messed up film!

I'm a fan of older movies, so Robert Wise's 'The Haunting' would have to be the scariest movie i've seen. No special effects, no gore, just brilliant use of sound and light and good acting.

I don't see what's freaky about that at all

It's just stupid.

That was more comic than a Scary Movie, the blonde named BABY on the movie was a PLUS to watch that movie...

Rob Zombie always comes with his crazy stuff on mind and this time wasnt different as he produced his own Movie

I used to be very much in to watching horror films but I can't say I've ever found any of them scary really. They're more amusing than anything else.

Oh, and the Blairwitch Project is so scary that on 1st viewing... I fell asleep.

Most genre horror films try way too hard to be scary and as a consequence are anything but, you know by the music when they're going to make you jump, you know the irritating girl will get her tits out shortly before dying and the black character will be the last to die but will never be the survivor, you know it will take at least 3 attempts to kill the baddie etc

Psychological films or ones that play on genuine human traits are far scarier. "Jacob's Ladder" still sets my nerves on edge while most of the Lynch films particularly "Blue Velvet" & "Eraserhead" make me uncomfortable. The only one that as an adult has truly scared/repulsed me to the point where I turned it off was "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer", we had just dropped LSD at the time though which was probably not the wisest state to try and watch the film in, I watched it the next morning and still found it horribly real and very uncomfortable to watch.

For me the Jap original versions of the Ring and the Grudge.

Gotta agree with Bury that Psychological horror films are the most scary of the genre. Most of the other stuff these days has just turned into a gorefest.

Didn't really understand the whole fuss on that film, wasn't remotely scary at all.

The movies I found scariest are Amityville Horror, Wrong Turn and Nightmare On Elm Street (the first one, the rest weren't that scary).

:nervous:

Anyways Wrong turn was superb.

Exorcism of Emily Rose was also fcking scary.

28 Days Later and Event Horizon both scared the shit out of me when I watched them at the cinema.:nervous:

oh yeah forgot about 28 Days Later, it was so good I went and saw it in the cinema twice. It freaked me a bit I have to admit.
I also thought the remakes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes were a bit freaky.

The Entity is a very freaky movie...... based on a true story with one of the most disturbing endings ive ever seen... highly recommended...

other than that..... it depends on the type of horror you like.... for atmospheric disturbing shit, either of the jap versions of The Ring or (the other one with buffy in the american remake, The Grudge)

personally i like the dramaticly ridiculous movies of Dario Argento..
like 'The Church'....
