Hes not a centre back though so its pretty irrelevant
I saw highlights of his debut. Didn't look great.
Apparently Janko was with the first team squad today along with Wilson
Me tooStop exciting me jb !!!
Id kill to see Wilson given a run.
Given the league's over with, one of them should probably be given a chance in the remaining games.Maybe we dont need a new RB after all. Saidy and Varela could do the job as Rafael cover.

Bit extreme guys, no? I mean, murder?
As for Janko, I can't help but see a baby Valencia in him. I also said earlier in the season that I suspected he was being fast-tracked above Varela. He arrived at 17 and was immediately pushed through the ranks. I'd definitely like to see Varela have a go though.
True, but not at right-back. Has he played in defense for the u21s? As a right-back Varela strikes me as much more mature and probably more talented, though the latter claim is really just an unfounded hunch as it's nigh on impossible to compare an 18-year-old to a 21-year-old. I'd like to see Vermijl come back to cover Rafael next season while Varela goes on loan, but that seems unlikely given what Vermijl's agent said a few weeks ago. I'm sure Varela could do a job as Rafael's understudy next season but I'd rather see him play regularly on loan somewhere. What I don't want us to do is spend a bundle on Coleman when we've got a young, classy first choice RB and brilliant prospects coming up behind.
Janko has often played right-wing in the 21s, although has also played right-back while Varela was out. I just saw it as part of our usual development strategy of playing kids in different roles.
Hes the least likely to make it IMO, despite being currently one of the best, he's all physique when you watch him, there's not a lot at all to his game... He does well at that level, but I suspect he'll be found out instantly once he tries to progress.. Hope I'm wrong.

Thats my perception as well, stands out due to his size, strength and speed at that level currently, the commentators on MUTV go really over the top on the praise with this kid, kind of annoys me a little.
So even though he's 18, he isn't going to develop any footballing ability or sense at one of the best academies in the world?
Sell him,
/thread
Our coaching team has a history of favouring technique over size, and that's why the likes of Cleverley, Lingard, Cole were still given a chance here even though they were physically weak in their growing years. The youth coaches must have seen something special in him considering he have started majority of the U21 matches and has now travelled with the first team as well. It's bit stupid of the posters above who have probably seen a youtube video of him and has written him off due to the fact that he's built like a tank.
Yeah, he has a bit more to his game than just athleticism and at 18 he's an interesting prospect. I didn't really warm to him right away as he did seem like a bit of a kick-and-run merchant but it didn't take him too long to start showing proper ability.
What's this proper ability he's showing? Can you name a time where he has stood out for something other than being pretty quick & strong? His defending is wayward and relies purely on strength, his positioning is awful, which he (at this level) can get away with, as he's quick as feck, but there have been so many bad moments, I'd be surprised if he plays at Championship level when he matures.
I hope that I'm wrong, but I really see absolutely nothing, brilliant for the reserve team as he will help the team at the end of the day, which will have a positive impact on several interesting youth players, I don't want rid, he isn't special though.
If you watched him from the start of the season you can see a lot of development in his game already in his time here in terms of his link up play, passing and general match intelligence and his productivity has gotten a lot better as hes has 4 or 5 assists recently and created a lot of other chances and if he continues to develop at the rate he has he's got a chance. I'm not sure if he has enough to his game to be a winger and get the feeling the club might be playing him there to develop his attacking play and due to a lack of wingers at that level, I see his long term future more as a full back.
There is a thread about the team lacking pace, yet people want to write off Janko because he is mostly about pace - ironic, isn't it.
I disagree, btw, with those saying that Lennon can't run with the ball; he's actually great at running with the ball and controlling it at pace. What he can't do is find any sort of end product, be it the final pass, the cross or a shot.
Janko is no Lennon though; he's much more a Valencia style player, but he seems to have a bit more dribbling in his locker. He's 18; there's plenty of room for improvement.
