Ruud van Nistelrooy

oh ruud

To be honest, if this is true, which it might well be even taking into consideration the greediness of agents and the change of policy of united not paying agents contract fees, would it really be so awful? I think Ruud is probably the best striker we have had, but but but, he is not the player he was 2 years ago.Yes, he is scoring..but he is still short of what he was, the pace is not as sharp, the vision is not as sharp. Sure he is still a great striker..but surely only for a year or two more? He is 30 next july....and will be even more prone to injuries as he gets even older. Why not get 20 25 million for him now and invest in someone else. Is that such bad business? For my mind, the more a player creates doubt about whether they really want to play for united..the more I want them to go. For goodness sake, these are definite quotes from his agent, and he wouldn't do that without asking Ruud first. Playing for united has always been about dying for the club. This is why I love the Gary Nevilles of the world..or the scholesy. Ok, we might not win everything, they might f**k up sometimes, but I want to watch players giving blood for the club because they only want to play for United. Players do this in the lower devisions all the time. I don't want a ******* team who are only there because money talks. We know that because before Roman ******* found it hard to buy top players. If I was a ******* fan...no matter what success they have, I would still feel that everything won was not by players who really FEEL and LIVE the traditions of the club.....just my opinion.....

There is nothing medically wrong with ruud that's not only fact it's bloody obvious.

Really hope this is all rubbish.. Ruuds looking like hes got another few 30+ goal seasons in him. TBH hes always looked to have loved the club, but you could see his reasons to wanting out.. With ******* looking like theyr going to dominate for years, and also united going through so many changes.

Bet Custis will wrote about Ruud heading for Spain and Real Madrid in his exclusive Sun article tomorrow.

if ruud leaves then that is bye bye to are premiership chances,

ruud is probably the best finisher in the world at the moment, not many strikers can replace him, infact none can for sheer games to goals ratio

if ruud went it'd be in the summer if at all, but remember we got rooney. Wayne can play that role if something were to happen and then you could maybe buy or promote a reserve. With rossi and blake etc we've good potential upfront. I'm just waiting for the bring forlan back brigade... ;)

Does anyone know how long Ruud has left on his current contract. If it's two or more years I don't think United would even bother entertaining the idea.

I don't think Madrid would pay 20 mill as they have just invested a shitload of money on new strikers this season.

Barca have Eto'o on a long term contract. Personally I don't think Ruud is going anywhere, much like I though earlier this year, and last year and the year before that.

Ruud contract run out till 2008, so after this season, he only has 2 years left in his contract, the same thing happen when we sold becks. :nervous:

He'll be here next season.

I would accept that Ruud may want to finish off his career with the experience of another league but the timing of this is ridiculous.

Logically :- Can't seal Real going for him - nor would Ruud because of the Owen experience. Real have invested heavily in strikers this season and they don't value "goal poachers". Barca maybe but didn't they say their primary target next summer is Henry? All the top Italian teams already have top class strikers on their books - Milan (Shevchenko, Gilardino, Vieri & Inzaghi), Juventus (Trezequet, Ibrahimovic) & Inter (Adriano & Martins). So unless it's ******* starting the merry go round - I doubt if it'll happen.

Van Nistelrooy agent dismisses exit talk

Ruud van Nistelrooy is staying at Manchester United, according to his agent.

The Dutch striker has been linked with a move to La Liga and possibly Real Madrid at the end of the season.

However the player's representative Rodger Linse said Van Nistelrooy is putting down roots in Manchester and is buying a house.

'Ruud is happy at Manchester United,' Linse told the Manchester Evening News.

'As a matter of fact he is in the process of buying a house in Manchester. Previously he had rented but now he is buying somewhere. Why would he buy a house if he wants to leave the club?'

Van Nistelrooy, who signed a new United deal until 2008 in January last year, scored his seventh league goal of the season in the 3-2 defeat of Fulham at Craven Cottage.

He is forming a fine partnership with Wayne Rooney, who also found the target at the weekend. In fact the pair of them have scored all of United's 10 Premiership goals.

Linse has become increasingly irritated by speculation surrounding Van Nistelrooy.

'It is just ridiculous,' he said. 'Every year it is the same thing with rumours of Ruud leaving. This story is incorrect.'

What I want to know is how the Sunday Mirror can get away with claiming there was an "explosive interview with Rodger Linse which would leave Man Utd reeling" in the first place

Top-notch reporting, that's why. [/sarcasm]

There will be striker posts gone wild on the transfer forum then..

I think if we dont win any trophies this season he may well leave. he is in top form and that is all he can do.

I would not blame him if he went. We should get good money for him though...
Therefore, when we didn't win anything last season and he was not on top form, you wouldn't blame us for selling him either?

I don't think Ruud is the world's best finisher at all. I'm happy as long as he keeps scoring, but the beauty in his game comes on his postioning, but as for the actual finishes, most of them could have actually been scored by anyone of us. Goals like the winner against Benfica, or against Fulham were good because Ruud was there to score them, however, anyone could have finished them once there. Ruud can't finish like Henry or Ronaldo for me, but they can't often find spaces like he does.

Ruud can also rarely come up with a moment of pure genius like his turn & shot against Benfica which rattled the cross bar.

His sheer effectiveness in terms of goals/appearance merits his inclusion in our squad. Its easy to say that any striker with service like that could score those goals but we have seen strikers like Forlan who haven't scored so much for us.

What i like about Ruud is that he seems to be getting his sharpness back; his injuries have hindered his progress and he is not at top form yet but he is getting there i feel; he holds the ball up well with his back to the defenders and spreads play well. I feel that last season his reaction was very slow and he was also sloppy in his passes.

Ruud isn't the most naturally gifted of strikers but i would say that he is one of the smartest in the business in terms of anticipating what to do to get on the scoresheet.

you have basically repeated what i said.

even the brazillian ronaldo said ruud is the most lethal finisher in the game.

Finishing is about different things.. what kanchelskis14's is mainly referring to is one on ones, which Henry and Ronaldo are much better at, because of their superior technique and ball control.

But Finishing is not just about that.. Ruud is a better header of the ball then them both and generally deals with the high ball alot better(beckhamesque high through balls, Ruud would be them most effective at the end of those those)... Its not just that Ruud gets into those situations more than others, he knows how to deal with those situations better than most.. Atleast at his sharpest. I personally feel that Ruud of two years ago was better than any striker in the world today..

He was phenomenal two years ago. I've got our league win on DVD, and he was on another planet.

Ruud's technique and ball control are absolutely top drawer

He almost always puts 1-on-1s away too

Henry and Ronaldo are better at dribbling, and scoring from distance

Ruu'd finishing is second to none, it's not just tap-ins, but his positioning is so superb that he gets a lot of tap-ins which he's hardly going to reject on aesthetic grounds

only cnuts like kanchelskis will always claim that the henry-who-never-turns-up-in-big-games to be better than Ruud
with goal scoring ratio in all competition second to none
phenomenal record in the champions league 47 goals in 49 games if i am not mistaken
ruud is definately THE MAN
Ruud=Legend
