because sky say so

its from the same interview

in 2005? at 28-29 haaaaaaa its a joke

I really think he'll be back at PSV after WorldCup 2006.
Ruud used to be very happy at PSV and the atmosphere in Eindhoven is much more down-to-earth than in Manchester...

you really need to live here to make a comment like that

hes on the verge of becoming a united legend and break all kinds of scoring records and win major things

but he'll throw all that away to join a team where he played 2 and abit seasons? oh and for the down to earth atmosphere, move on mate

so when are you getting ronaldo, cocu and romario back then

Cocu will be back at the end of the season.
Romario would have come back last season but Erik Gerets didn't want a nuisant (?) guy like Romario. And Ronaldo... pfff... he's big... But Ronaldo and Van Nistelrooy is different. Ruud is a Dutch guy, Ronaldo isn't.
And about the down-to-earth-stuff... When I read all the stuff about the magazines lying in bushes or hiring ladies just to have a story to write... Hmmm...
The only thing in the bushes at the Herdgang is my PSVbike when I'm watching a training and having a chat with our lads...

so because hes dutch hes gonna go back haaaaa

why would he want to go back to a small dutch team and european minows like you at 31

dream on mate it aint gonna happen

wouldnt be a huge shock if he signs a new deal by the end of the season

But you'll see in a few years he'll be playing at PSV again!

its a dream mate get over it

so hes gonna flush it all away because..

1.hes dutch

2.its down to earth over there

i think it´s obvious he still has strong feelings for psv, but ive rarely seen a foreigner who cares and understands about united as much as he does.

cant see him going back to the netherlands till he´s 33-34, but its a funny, old game after all ...

of they players youve seen in a psv shirt so far, where does he rank in your opinion? do you think hes a legend?

Luc Nilis is the best I've ever seen. He contributed a lot to the success Ruud has now. But after a terrible accident against Wright (I thought) he isn't able to play soccer anymore.
The first real match I went to was PSV-Sparta and Ruud scored three times and Luc 1. Ruud showed some really great things which I haven't seen (yet) with Kezman or Vennegoor of Hesselink.
They are the only strikers I've seen in real life. (I'm not that old yet and I only had a SeasonCard since I was 14)
I saw Romario at the re-opening of the PSVstadium, but it was a match in which Stan (beer) Valckx was in the goal...
I think you don't see that Ruud had a really great time at PSV and that PSV has done very much for him. He still has contact with many PSVplayers and when he's in Eindhoven he visits the Herdgang and Uncle Harry :D
But maybe after you read the whole story you'll understand what I mean.

I thought I read that he wants to marry an English girl and stay here until his dying day (maybe it was lost in translation ;) )

Hate to say this, but I think we're going to lose Ruud earlier than we'd like. I remember reading the interview he did last year, I think with a newspaper in Holland, where he said that he wanted to play out his contract at United and then return to PSV Eindhoven to re-pay them for everything they did for him while he was injured.
He said, at that age (30), he thought he'd still have enough drive and desire to perform for them.
Deep down, I do think we're going to lose him. But I'm just hoping that once he turns 29, 30, he's going to decide to stay here an extra year or two.

I can't blame him for wanting to finish his career at PSV Eindhoven. He's Dutch. He's from that area, and I would assume his family and his closest friends probably all still live there. PSV is probably his home team. If the EPL was like the Dutch league, it'd probably be the equivalent of the Nevilles/Giggsy/Scholesy playing abroad during their prime and then returning to United at the end of their careers to try to help us win something. It's a romantic dream to have...and you'd have to respect Ruud if that's what he ultimately decided to do.

Personally, though, I wish he'd said nothing. I remember reading the article last year thinking that when the money men at United read the interview, they'd start thinking about re-couping some of that £19 million before he could walk away on a free at 30. Hope I'm wrong about that, because for me the only thing worse than losing him at 30 is losing him at 28. To me if he continues performing anywhere close to what we've seen so far, we would have gotten our money's worth even if he did walk away at 30.

The irony is, I believe he really wants to win the league and the CL with United. And our best chance of keeping him past 30 would probably be if he felt he hadn't won enough trophies with us.
But then, I'm thinking, people do change their minds. And when he turns 29 or 30, hopefully he'll have won a lot of trophies with us and he'll still find that it's a lot harder to walk away from United than he would have imagined.

I have to agree to Red15... It is a romantic dream of Ruud. And I think he wants to return to PSV coz they did so much for him and coz he had such a great time overhere.
But to be honest, he can't win any big prizes with PSV... Even if he would score 100 times, I think we wouldn't be able to win the CL... :(

And Elizabeth, I don't know who gave you that translation, but I think it must have been some very bad translater :D

Oho!
Cocu is already back in Holland, in my backyard!

And off course that's not me, I'm very handsome BUT NOT A SOCCER-GROUPIE! :D

cocu is rubbish imo

would be well pissed off if my club bought him as van bommels replacement

We have Remco van der Schaaf as Bommels replacement. Cocu would be Vogels...
Hmmm... Cocu, motor of Barcelona (in CL they're still very good), star of Holland...

I really hope he'll return to PSV! Even if it's just to give his experience through to all our youngsters...

PSV Rulezzz

have you got any more of them RVN goal clipsthe ones you posted were great

I'll try to find some more clips. These came from www.psvonline.nl
But next week I'll have lots of time, so be a little patient :D

i have heard that story before,i remember ruud saying he will play out his best years for utd but he would like to finish his career at psv, maybe when hes 34 or 35

maybe he will go back, like schimecihal did when his days were over with us. ..but i cant see it happening b4 2006...
