Rugby World Cup 2019 aka Squishy McSquish goes into a meltdown thread

All seems a bit silly to fine England for their response to the Haka, particularly when so many New Zealanders welcomed it.

I was referring to the quality of the performances.

The Wales SA game was dour: there were poor choices made by both teams, handling errors, aimless kicks and a lack of any real conviction in attack.

Granted some of this stuff can be rectified but if SA put in the same level of performance in the final they'll lose and England are the favourites to win.
We win games defensively rather than what we do in attack. We basically dont carry the ball unless we're in the oppositions 40 meters. Our team didnt make many handling errors. Pretty sure New Zealand made more this past saturday.

Look, defensively we're on another level. Our forwards are as physically dominant as you're likely to get at this level. Wales averaged a pathetic 1.6 meters per carry this past sunday. We had them playing in the wrong part of the pitch for pretty much the whole game. Mind you we are perfect on set pieces(lost one line out on our feed all tournament), Our scrum provided Beast starts is as good as they come.

I dont think England have the skill to score tries from 60 meters on the counter.

This is vintage SA rugby. We will bore you to a loss. Our team is about territory rather than possession. When Ferrell and co no space to play it'll be interesting to see what they do about that situation.

I'm well aware of the Sth African game plan. Its not exactly complicated.

Wales were a shadow of themselves by the time the semi-final came round and should have been easily beaten the week before but for the red card.

As much as I hate to say it this England team do everything well and are no slouches up front either.

I believe the game will be a tight affair but England definitely have the edge. If they're on top of their game there'll only be one winner.

Although it's a shame Sth Africa don't have a cut a bit more often as they look dangerous when they do.

We'll agree to dissagree then. We'll win this by 6 points after 80 minutes of watching Peter Steph Du Toit bully the likes of Underhill in to submission.

Fair play for your confidence. Not sure it’ll play out as easy as you think though.

Same XV for England
Spencer in on the bench the only change

I thought he might have dropped Ford to help deal with SAs physicality. Can see De Allende targeting Ford’s channel.

No real surprises for SA with Kolbe replacing Nkosi the only change they've made. Rassie Erasmus has ignored Stuart Barnes who said on Aussie TV that Louw should start in place of Kolisi.

Are we expecting a hard fought low scoring war. Can England push the Boks backwards at the breakdown and create the space to play? Not seen much of the WC except vs the Kiwis.

Looking forward to to both final games of this Rugby World Cup.

Predicting New Zealand to comfortably win the bronze.

Can’t see past England for the final but hopefully the Springboks prove me wrong.

With all respect, the American fella has no business being on that list.

Especially considering the best player at this world cup, Maro Itoje hasn't been included.

Yep. Joke nominations

ignore his England form. What about Saracens as well. Won the playoffs, won the champions cup. Finalists of the domestic cup. They’re a seriously good side of which he’s a main man. Could say same re Farrell

Wouldn't at least a Japanese player be deserving of being on that list?

Some cherry-picked stats as to why England won't win: England have never won a final with a Northern Hemisphere ref, they have never won a World Cup played in the Northern Hemisphere and South Africa have always won the World Cup when England knocked the Wallabies out in the quarter finals.

Sadly, I think England deserve to be favourites and I think they'll be world champions this time tomorrow. Please South Africa, prove me wrong. England winning Cricket and Rugby World Cups in the same year is not an enticing prospect.

First off, his name is Farrell not Ferrell although that is probably would pronounce it. The Boks haven’t played anyone with the pace and power that England have. We will run the Boks forwards into the ground and smash them in the last quarter. As for not being able to score a 60mt breakaway try, catch Jonny May if you can. England by ten points.

As predicted, a very easy All Blacks win.

Felt a bit like a testimonial. Both Hansen & Gatland leaving their respective roles and a few of the players playing in their last ever World Cup.

Seriously?

England played amazing rugby against NZ, the score line flattered the all blacks by a long way. Compare that to the tumescent shitfest that South Africa served up in beating a crap Wales. The cricket World Cup final was one of the most watchable and exciting games of cricket in the history of the sport and probably gained it a huge surge of popularity with a generation of young fans.

It’s the second time in this thread you’ve said how bad it would be for England to win. fecking bore off

Wanting England to lose at sporting events is a national past-time in some countries - Get used to it

Bricking it now. I know we’re most likely to lose, but it’s the hope that kills you.

I have to go for an eye test this morning and the only available appointment was...15mins after kickoff :(

Good luck to both teams but mostly SA
Feck. Rearrange it, your eyes can be tested anytime. You don't wanna miss this.

What's the deal? He's free to support whoever he wants and wish whatever team he isn't supporting to lose. There is really nothing to be triggered about

Is this the first World Cup where the winner wouldn’t have won every game?
