Italy need to not collapse in the second half. If it ends up 30 points it’d be a kick in the balls considering how the first half has gone. Keeping it close in Paris would be a great result

The penalties Italy give away are criminal. They've had a decent half here, but no matter how good they play, their indiscipline always lets them down.

The Italian has taken that over the line, hasn't he?

He did, but he never grounded it. Smart play from his mate to drag him back across the line before the French landed on him.

I'm pretty sure Woki knocked the ball on in the lineout before the French try.

It was a strange game. France need to be more disciplined.

Ah yeah, I'm a fan of the long form sports journalist so the legend of Munster Rugby and especially Limerick has not escaped me.

There's just less bullshit on a Rugby Pitch, GAA too.

So many aspects of football depress me.
Me too.

Given the crap weather, I thought the French were good. The match against Ireland will be a cracker and could come down to decisions from the t.m.o. . England were slow for too long against Scotland and let Russell do his thing which ultimately won the game. Strange substitutions from Jones.

You're full of rugby enthusiasm tonight!

Haha but lie @diarm says he is definitely a candidate for that superlative. Front rowers are often overlooked but Furlong has everything and more. it's easy to say Dupont or Beauden but Furlong is actually a more complete player than either.

We've lost a stack of matches now because our depth is pitiful. It's tragic really.

I mean for a team of the depth you have to have 'deserved' to win against Leicester and Stade is just incredible. And for me you guys proved you were the better rugby team in those games but mistakes were awful, but that is honestly depth.

For me we need to start a 'New Zealand' approach as a small nation. Like bring ROG and his staff into Munster, maybe give Leo and Lancaster the Irish job. basically bring the coaching staff into Ireland to manage the provinces with the main focus clearly on bringing the best to the national side.

Nah, you are right he is excellent and should be recognized though among front rowers, I feel the same about Marchand and I'm perpetually amazed by Dane Coles.

Why only amongst front rowers? Why can't a front rower be the best player in the World?

I feel like you haven’t watched Ireland over the last 4 or 5 months…

I've watched us plenty and what we showed against a very depleted Wales is not a fraction of what we did against NZ, Japan and Argentina in the months before that. Look we were 'fine' but if anything the Autumn showed we should reach for more consistently. We played 'well' against Wales but for me we played badly in terms of what we can do and I expect. I'm of the opinion that we can play offloading rugby against any side because I've seen all out players do it and we did it against NZ, bit against Wales we were a bit off in that regard but hopefully just rust and I hopefully am proven to be an idiot.

Back when I was younger it was rare to know anyone who played more people played basketball, now talking to the lads in work a lot of there kids play rugby, but it’s never going to get anywhere like NZ unless public schools play it.

I've been crushed a lot of times lately

It's just evening out for last year

Yeah, I think Wales used up all their luck last year.

EDIT: Although saying that, I don't think it can be construed as luck if the opposition get one of their players sent off I guess. That's not wales' fault

could go either way in the battle of the smelly england touchers.

Really poor quality game. Wales on the ball are a disaster. They just go nowhere, can't make any yards, then end up booting it away. Not aggressive enough in the breakdown, either. Not good rugby at all.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game where Dan Biggar hasn’t been at least slightly injured
