Unlucky! What a game! World Rugby needs to work it's ass off to develop these nations. Give them a proper tournament with good money, give them guaranteed matches each year against tier 1. Just do something.
Respect to Portugal rugby. In a football centric country, their performances have been outstanding.
They show a lot of promise if the game picks up over there. Their second half was real good against a tested Georgian side.
Prediction time: No red cards for England against Chile and the Boks to beat Ireland in a very close match at the Stade de France.

But yeah the RWC is basically the only place all the "small" nations get to play top tier opponents with any stakes. And it's not instant development either, as shown by Italy. Probably need to find a way to direct more money to those countries. As I understand it Romania was a fearsome opponent when they had strong institutional backing under Ceausescu and played France every year.

Can we just gift New Zealand Smith? Instead of wasting his absurd(at least for an English player) talent mostly being a replacement player when it comes to key games for England.
