Rose or Perisic?

2. We need legitimate width and pace in-behind at all times, with & without the ball, a fullback wouldnt offer that when we're not in possession.
3. Perisic can swap wings and provide similar on the right should we need it.

This is why I would prefer Perisic as well.

Surely a decent LB can be found elsewhere for less than the £50m Levy would fleece us for, that is if he even entertained doing business this late in the season, which he probably won't.

I've always rated Bertrand, and think he would be among the talks for team of the year if in a more dominant team.

How much do you think Southampton would sell at?

Perisic and Bertrand would be sweet.

Can't remember how much he has left on the contract, but I reckon 30 million should suffice.

Well Mourinho loves a bit of Valencia. I think there's more to his reluctance in picking Shaw than the fact he likes to run the flank.
Yeah but just Valencia. He doesn't want 2 attacking full backs, he usually wants one to attack and the other to defend, hence his love for Darmian last season.

I think Darmian was the choice by default to be totally honest. Was that not kind of proven to be a myth about the 1 sitting and 1 attaching FB? Honestly don't feel like searching up Mourinho's starting line ups to prove otherwise

Perisic easily, would do everything Rose can and actually be a asset in the opposing half.

I think it depends on how Luke Shaw gets on. This is another reason I don't want Rose, even if he is 6 years older than Shaw.

Who do we need more? A proven left back in Rose or a hardworking ambidextrous winger a la Perisic.

Perhaps a poll would be a good idea?

Either one of them, let alone both, would be a instant upgrade. But really I'd rather see Martial and Shaw starting to play the way we've seen they can. Both pairs at their best possible performance, the latter would be an easy choice. Younger too, if age plays any part it this scenario.

Getting perisic means we have to compromise on game time of martial. However if we buy rose, we can play as 4 men defense, he can play as a wing back. I personally would be very happy with Danny rose.

Rose, as that allows us to go for a better WF options next summer like Pulisic or Lemar.

Rose.

I think he could get more out of Martial, or whoever plays as our left winger.

If you look at Madrid the other day, the willing running by both, Marcelo and Carvajal, allowed the likes of Isco and co. more time on the ball in the middle of the park. They were constantly getting up the pitch and offering attacking overloads. Not necessarily always being used, but being there as an option meant it dragged our team out of position.

A left back like Rose, who, in my opinion, is the best left back in the league, would do wonders for not only our attack, but would up the performance of our wingers, especially Martial.

If we need left back or wing back i would say Rose. I still have faith in Shaw though so dont actually think we need in that position.

But not in the same extent as Perisic. Similarly Perisic would contribute in defence aswell but not the same extent Rose would.

Since our problem is attack and not defence the clear choice is Perisic here.
In a direct comparison, yes.

However, having a good attacking fullback behind one of our current left-wingers might well give us an overall stronger attack down that side than Perisic with Darmian behind him.

I'm indifferent really. I do hope we get somebody down that side, and have faith that Jose knows which one to prioritise.

Has to be Rose, because Shaw is a question mark and we have 3 guys at LW who have potential to become a productive starter in Rashford, Mkhitaryan and Martial, and Lukaku's signing should mean the 2 young ones don't get a ton of time as lone strikers. Assuming we do the 2 lineups thing like last year, but this year one is 4-3-3 and the other is 3-5-2, rather than last year's 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 binary:

(I'm not getting into the LCB question, but I'm fairly confident Mourinho will get a strong performance out of whoever ends up there from Lindelof, Jones, Rojo, Smalling or Blind)

---------------Lukaku-------------------
Martial/Rashford-----Mkhitaryan/Mata
------Pogba---------Herrera-------------
---------------Matic-----------------------
Rose/Shaw-LCB-----Bailly--------Valencia
--------------De Gea---------------------

and

--------Lukaku---Mkhitaryan-------------
------Pogba---------Herrera-------------
---------------Matic-----------------------
Rose/Shaw---------------------Valencia
-----------LCB--CB----Bailly-------------
--------------De Gea---------------------

looks really strong.

Or we play with 3 at the back and Perisic becomes a LWB, prefer him much over Rose than.

Also even with Darmian or Blind behind him, still prefer Perisic as a pure winger who can cross to our striker over Rose-Martial combo for example.

Don't need Perisic, we have Martial who would benefit greatly from a good fullback making supporting runs so Rose for me.

Rose is a brilliant LB / LWB he's a much better player technically than Walker at right back would not like to see him go. But who ever was saying he can play LW, he can't, he tried earlier in his career but was terrible, should defo play deeper.

Rose, LB and certified Wingback... People just hope Perisic can play there.

Rose. He'd provide width from deep and widen our play. Would create more room for either Martial/Rashford. Honestly think he'd transform our attacking down the left side.

Tough one. I'm in the camp that believes Martial should play every week, so would prefer Rozay. That said, Jose isn't in that camp, so Perisic over Lingard.

Rose - assuming it means Rashford and Martial get more games.

Perisic - but want Rose just to weaken Tottenham further. They've got a really strong young squad who all don't mind getting half what they'd get anywhere else. Well apart from their squad players/reserves who get paid more than the first team. Odd system.

Rose can play left back, left wingback and left wing. For that alone he'd win
Rose has been injured by quite a lot. Defender, United injury curse, for that one, it doesn't look promising one bit.

Not really. Perisic is different player than Martial. Even if Martial is to play on the left wing, Perisic can play on the right wing and free up Micky & Mata for no 10 role if needed. Rose means the end of Shaw for sure.

I'd imagine it's for the same position of WB so it would be either or. Not really a fan of either so it's a hard choice. I'd maybe go with Peresic but really that's not saying much as I don't really rate him.

No, it was because we had unreliable left forwards in Martial and Rashford. Zlatan was our main source of attack, until Rashford stepped up toward the end of the season (too late). Blind, Darmian and Young held the left back role decently well.
There was a reason he stepped up and that's because Zlatan wasn't there hampering our efforts.

It's a moot point, Levy has already made it clear that he will not do business with United whatsoever. Even if he did consider allowing Rose to join us, the fee would be astronomical. Not overly keen on Perisic either.

Shaw still has a huge future at United, I fancy him to shine after he returns from injury.
