Rooney testimonial vs Everton

This could easily have been the Louis van Gaal testimonial.

Preseason friendly or not at least this is another eye opener for Jose about how average/poor some of his players are and why we still need a CM and CB.

Hopefully we play our starting 11 or as close to it next week at Wembley.
That was as close to our starting 11 as we'll have on Sunday.

I missed Celebrity Celebrities for that pile of poop.

Everton had the three best chances of a terribly dull game. United were restricted to shots from outside the box or tight angles, apart from one Mata effort that was blocked and Fellaini's header from a corner that was saved easily.

Almost like a team full of Lingards. Get the ball. Not quite sure what to do with it. Play a simple pass.

Zlatan seems to drop very deep some of the time.

Second half was dire, it is so obvious we are lacking in the wide areas.

If i was Mourinho i would seriously look at getting someone like Mahrez.

So little movement from our players, you would think Medusa was our manager.

I for one am shocked that we didn't immediately start playing beautiful attacking football.

The highlight of that game was Wayne and Kai Rooney laughing at Memphis's failed attempt at an overhead kick

If this is anything to go by (and I know it isn't), we will need more than Pogba to turn us into title contenders.

Too many mediocrities in the squad.

Lads it's a testimonial match and the players have only had 2 pre season matches. Doom and gloom in here

Bar Mkhitaryan yes it was, I just mean I hope he knows his 11 (add Smalling and hopefully Pogba) and is not chopping and changing much over the first few games of the season. He must now know that some of this squad should not even see the bench let alone first team.

Reckon some people need to calm down about a preseason friendly. We played well against Barcelona in preseason last year. Meant sweet F.A. when the season began. Mourinho was very clear that this game, like the last, was about fitness. The players were obviously not playing at 100 per cent intensity, with the exception of Ashley Young who looked well up for it. Trying to draw anything from non-competitive performances is silly. Nobody is going to bust their backside in game like this. Why would you risk a muscle strain in a glorified kick about? Calm down people.

We desperately need a top class winger.

Martial's head isn't right, Depay is fecking shite and our other wing options are championship level.

That and the fact that we're not going to be making 11 changes every game

The midfield in the first half looked better, it was just frustration when up against Everton's 3 at the back. With the new midfield signing I'd hope that'll improve.

All the second half showed was that we do have some shite that needs flushed out of this squad.

I missed Celebrity Celebrities for that pile of poop.

You didn't miss much, a new member entered the house who is only a celebrity because they won the regular version of Celebrities a couple of years back. Then Katie Hopkins said something edgy so the rest of the celebrities beat her with socks filled with batteries.

I have to admit I've not watched many testimonials for a while, but what happened to getting in a load of legends and stuff, and then making sure the score ends 5-2 or something, and the testimonialee scores at least one goal?

This was just a shit pre-season friendly.

Agree. Think this is the team to start on Sunday along with Mkhitaryan. Although I would be tempted to put Rashford in for Martial. Think he has a lot on his mind at the moment.
