Rooney testimonial vs Everton

Ibra's playing pretty well. Quick feet for a 65 year old.

I know it's only a testimonial like but I foresee Rooney and Ibrahimovic's slow paced partnership becoming quite a pain this season.

There's a noticeable improvement over last seasons football already but I feel it's going to take a while before these players forget Van-Gaal-ball and start playing football again.

For a testimonial Everton are sitting really really deep. I guess they're treating it like a PL game

Good practise at breaking down a solid defence but the football has been slow. Crowd have barely got a song going, not great at home, even for a friendly - though fair play for so many turning up.

Tony V hasn't been so effective at his crosses for about half a decade now, not sure what's going on there but the league's shins mist be glad.

When teams sit back like this its better to play Mata and Rashford because they are technical and can do 1-2 quick passes
Thinking the same. I don't see the Rooney Ibra combo working that well tbh.

I wish Valencia would go...to Valencia. So frustrating.

Bit like LVG era, wish we'd let them have the ball a bit more. Force them to do something, and utilise the space.

Nice to see the daytrippers are out in force in the stadium today jesus!

Then again the match is hardly exciting is it?
And all the people who are fans of Rooney are usually at the bingo on a Wednesday night.

Zlatan is the one player that you can see almost stood still with the ball on the edge of the area and still expect him to get through on goal. Such good feed.

A couple of things I feel we lack are someone who is willing to run at defences from midfield when the opportunity presents (ala Anderson or a young Rooney) and that one player like a Ronaldo or Giggs who can consistently turn up the heat even on an individual level when needed. Oh and for the love of god the players need to not be scared to take the shot on from distance at times. Hopefully Pogba can solve some of the problems and Martial and Mikhi can provide a lot of threat. I feel like Herrera should be capable but he almost looks scared at times, maybe thats just a hangover from the possession football.
