Rooney Charged: Faces Two Match Ban for cursing | Appeal lost

Problem is, you seem to do if only to be controversial if anything else.

This is a discussion board, if you haven't realised. Obviously posters are more likely to respond to threads/posts/opinions if they disagree with them.

Btw rednev in being a fecking twat shocker.

Do you understand the word conspiracy? I said it last night he'll get charged. It's simply understanding the climate and the mood the FA is in regards to United at the moment. You keep changing your tune to back the FA as each moment passes. First is they won't charge him, now it's the right thing but, it will get overturned on appeal. Only thing cringeworthy here is your bum licking of the FA.

Find one piece of evidence that I think it was right, just one.

I'll give you 24 hours, I still don't expect you to find one, stop being so fecking defensive and admit that, just like everyone, players get harsh bans first which are almost always reduced on appeal.

What a joke. The ref doesn't issue a card, thus resulting in a ban, but a cameraman can?

I guess the ref didn't mention the incident in his match report then?

Is it even legal to increase a punishment for daring to appeal???????

Doesn't that remove the right to a fair appeal???

Yes, it effectively discourages a party from appealing their original decision.

Nobody ever said the FA was democratic.

Who has done the same as Rooney and got away with it?
.

No one to my knowledge. In fact the only case I recall where someone swore/talked to the camera/viewers at home was Drogba and he got punished by UEFA but I don't recall exactly what.

Hang on are they going to make sure all footballers don't use the 'f' word in future? What a joke, I didn't think the story was worthy of comment...let alone expect an outcome such as this. I hope he retires from the national side.

Its not about the "f word" being picked up or lip read, its about him ranting it at the TV viewers and no other players have done that this season, have they?

I can't believe there are people here(rednev doesn't surprise me) who think Rooney deserves it.

I can't believe some people are defending it, what he did was wrong and was always going to be trouble. In fact, he ranted at the camera on the pitch for England at the WC, remember? "nice to see your home fans booing you", which people did not like and later had to make a comment to take it back so what did he think was going to happen if he took it a step further and swore at the camera. :wenger:

Every single time players go to celebrate someone will shout something along the lines of 'fecking come on' or 'fecking get in'. The only difference between that and his is that they weren't looking directly at the camera. They're just as reckless about who hears it and the language is no less foul and abusive.

Again, it's the old chestnut, where's the consistency?

Now you're just being silly. Saying get the F in after a goal is not the same as swearing at the camera or viewers, why can some people not see that? Someone even tried to say that Rooney swearing at the camera was not the same as Drogba doing it. Its laughable it really is.

Head not hearts guys. The ban will sting us but stuff them.

I have realised whatever topic is up for discussion you often like to throw a cat amongst the pigeons.

Anyway, I am not that interested. A two match ban for what he has done is a farce.

Sky says that if he appeals and lose, it's still very unlikely he will get an extra game ban for that. But as it stands, a 2 game ban in place to start on saturday.

Horrible horrible decision by the F.A.

Looking at the bright side it might prove to be a blessing in disguise. Rooney's played a lot of games recently, and a little rest will hopefully keep him fresh for the run in.

The camera even went to Rooney in the middle of a goal celebration, a vital one at that, what did they expect him to say?

"Jolly glad I slotted that one home, what what."

What makes you think it's acceptable for you to tell me to feck off?

My opinion is different from yours. That does not make me a prick, and it doesn't give you the right to tell me to feck off.

You need to learn some decorum.

Not that I should have to explain but you spout the same rubbish about Rooney all the time, read your posts and get a grip he is our player. If this was any of our other players you be bloody fuming, no scrap that if this was Ronaldo you'd be bloody fuming...

I think this does deserve its own thread just so we can all vent at the FA and point out what an absolute joke this really is.

After BBC, Sky cameramen to be banned from OT. I wouldn't be surprised.

Of all the things FA has done, this is the most stupid along with Rio's 8 month ban.

If it was that I wouldn't mind so much.

But all they do, over and over again, is use us as an example of what won't happen if a player from another club comits the same offence.

My mate just said "thye've made a rod for their own bakcs here" but the point is they haven't. They have made a rod which they will forget all about as soon as the next similar case comes up.

Oh well, one to add to our wall of shame:

  • The only player to be banned for 8 months for missing a drugs test
  • The only player to be banned for writing an autobiography
  • The only player to get banned for getting into handbags with a racist groundsman outside of match-time
  • The only club for whom red cards in friendlies lead to suspension in the league
  • The only manager who gets banned for saying the ref was not "fair and strong"
  • The longest ever ban for violent conduct in Premier League history (not that Eric didn't deserve a long ban, but how long would Shearer have got for the same offence? A couple of months I reckon)
  • The only player to get banned for swearing during a goal celebration

Have I missed any?

Only club to have team entirely suspended for being members of a players union.
Only club to have to refinance their stadium deal due to FA finding it "too favourable". Caused United to have to make extra payments for Old Trafford until 1952.
Only club banned from holding preseason friendlies with foreign clubs due to having lent a player £1,000 and paid others £250 for appearing in the two intercontinental cup matches in 1968.

Drogba swore and critised the ref in the same outburst.

That is why it was different to Rooney.

What can't you get your head round? :wenger:

ycsyfeuya

Sideways, front ways and all feckign ways,

fecking shit arse wanking cnuts. fecking shite decision by incompetant feck sticks with no fecking blue.

Spastic cnuts.

feck off

So the precedent is that everytime a camera/microphone catches a player/coach swearing they will automatically get a 2 game ban?

You know what good.

If the FA think they can ban Rooney for this, feck them. This just shows what a bunch of feckless idiots they are. EVERYONE knows this is a terrible decision. Everyone. I love it. Bring it on FA, we're going to fecking win it all anyway.

If Joey Barton had done the same would the majority of people be defending him?

I personally think Rooney deserved to be punished but the big difference is the level of punishment.A fine and a warning would have been more than fecking enough in this instance.
A two match ban is taking the piss off :wenger:

FFS

cant say i didnt expect it though but i hoped for a 1 match ban - the media fall out has forced them to take action, ABU cnuts !

Is it one of those that if you appeal your ban is extended?

What? Not a chance....only played 22 of our 31 league fixtures. Since the turn of the new year his form has been on a upward curve, and that hat-trick would have given him a ton of confidence.

Only to now have an enforced break.

The timing is terrible. When he is in this kind of form, we need to keep him on the pitch and going....

l exactly what.

m.

He was unlucky to have had a camera thrust into his face. I've caught him using the 'f word' plenty of times during celebrations.
