They're both cuptied and I can't see us spending big money on a winter transfer who can't play in the CL. If its true that Ronaldinhio is leaving PSG then it will probably be to Italy and then we'll buy Cisse....but not until the summer.

It's when it starts to affect their play on the pitch(like it did with Yorke and has happened to becks at times) that Fergie gets pissed off. Then the player can either tone it down(Becks) or carry on regardless(Yorke). You can see how they have both fared.</strong><hr></blockquote>
I don't criticize him for that (otherwise I wouldn't like Barthez , who likes to hit the town too). It's just a fact that could leave to problems with Ferguson if he exagerates. We know that ultimately Yorke had to leave. In fact, I like Ronaldinho very much, he's a greatly talented player and a nice person. But who would he relace on the pitch ? Another star on the bench ? If I had the choice, I'd rather go for Cisse.

I'm inclined to believe him.

Far be it from me to post rumours... but... a striker is coming and he's not going to set pulses racing.....

But he's not as physical. That's my one and only worry about Ronaldinho, otherwise I think he would be (besides Henry himself) the best striker we could get. He has incredible skills, can create something out of nothing, and has the potential to be a great, but he might not be able to cope with the physical nature of the english game.
Somebody said something about our problem was scoring goals, rather than creativity in setting them up. But Ronaldinho is creative in a completely different way than our other play-makers like Veron, Beckham, Keano and Scholes. Veron and Becks are ball players who put others through holes with great vision, while Keano and Scholes are more power players who push through would-be tackles and get on the end of passes.
Ronaldinho is more like Giggs was a few years ago, he is a more individually brilliant player and that is often what is needed when teams sit back and defend. They're able to cut out the crosses and long balls from Seba and Becks, they make sure they mark Scholes and Keano out of the game, but there was nothing they could do to stop a moment of brilliance from Giggsy a few years ago, and there is nothing they can do to stop Ronaldinho now.
At the end of the day, I think it depends on what system SAF wants to play with. If he wants to go with 4-4-2, then I'd go for Cisse. But if he wants a 4-4-1-1 then Ronaldinho would be the man.

According to a story in the Sun during World Cup time, he is also more gifted in bed
I watched United v Arse (6-1) on MUTV lately (well, the Israeli version of). The idea of a more gifted footballer than Yorke is Pele or Maradona. When Yorke wanted to, he was the best striker in Europe.

No he wasn't. Sounds good to say so, but it's not true.

Does he really have such a serious party-boy mentality? In many ways he seems like a down to earth, simplistic character. But then again, so did Disco....

It is my strong opinion that United need a player who can fill Giggsy shoes. He is, in my opinion, on a downward spiral and I honestly question whether he will ever again show the consistent form that he showed in the late 90s. Fair is fair, the lad is getting older and has had his fair whack of injuries. All good things must come to an end some time; this is why I feel a bid for Ronaldinho is on the cards, and would be quite apt for our current situation.</strong><hr></blockquote>
i second that
maybe we could get Ronny now for the left wing spot and Cisse later, maybe then we could play 433 when we need to.

Ronaldinho race is on Friday 27 December, 2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ronaldinho is increasingly likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January so Inter and Juventus have sparked a bidding war with Manchester United.
The Brazilian World Cup winner has never had a good rapport with Coach Luis Fernandez, but this week the club has confirmed he will sit on the bench until the end of the season.
The French side is also struggling with financial problems, so the sale of a £20m-rated star would boost their ailing coffers.
Inter have the upper hand as Ronaldinho has long been a target for President Massimo Moratti, who made a bid two years ago.
The Nerazzurri may well need another boost in attack following a spate of injuries to Christian Vieri, Hernan Crespo, Mohamed Kallon and Nicola Ventola.
The stuttering form of Alvaro Recoba may see the Uruguayan included in a potential swap deal with PSG.
Juventus are also on the look out for a creative force as David Trezeguet is still dealing with knee ligament worries and Marco Di Vaio has disappointed since his move from Parma.
The Bianconeri would offer Marcelo Salas as part of the deal – although the Chilean does not want a mid-season switch – or Uruguayan forward Marcelo Zalayeta.
Milan are an outside bet to win this race with an offer of Danish international Jon Dahl Tomasson, though it is unlikely Ronaldinho will be added to their Brazilian contingent.
The main rivals to Inter and Juventus are Manchester United. It is reported that Sir Alex Ferguson could release Diego Forlan as a sweetener for the deal in addition to ready cash.</strong><hr></blockquote>
tonk regarding forlan as a make weight in any transfer
