No jynx intended, but does he ever do it against the big teams? I don't watch him regularly, but have a feeling he is a bit of a flat-track bully. No?
The disappointment with Zlatan has been not spanking the mediocre and poor sides at home. I was certain he was to be our flat-track bully, but it hasn't really been so.

Lukaku guarantees you close to 20 league goals per season in the premiership - tell me what other strikers out there can guarantee that right now who are available? There aint any. Yes Griezmann MIGHT do it but we wouldnt know for sure until he plays in the premiership how he would get on (also if he would play as an out and out striker at Utd). Lukaku would instantly make you genuine title challengers.
Not sure I agree with this. If he was in this season's team, he wouldn't play instead of Ibra would he? I don't think he's the one player who would make us title contenders. If you had to pick one player it'd be someone in a deep lying midfield position who would dictate the pace of the game and free up Pogba. Kante in the current United team would make us title contenders, even though I'm not personally a massive fan of his.

Your biggest problem this season has been a lack of goals. Zlatan has done great of course but who else in the team is likely to get you 15-20 goals per season? Not too many at the moment.

So he bottles one chance against the mighty Man Utd in an FA cup semi and now he is destined to be a flop at the 'higher level'. Sounds like the same nonsense you lot throw at Kane for being the only top 6 club he has failed to score against = he can't do it against top clubs. I suspect he would bang in a ton of goals at all levels of the game. 19 goals in 54 internationals would suggest he would at the very least be decent at the very highest level.

This is a kind of Quality Martial has in strikers Position at 21 ? Dont You think he needs a Fair chance at strikers position and Lukaku can block his progress? in that position

City have really fecked this up for us, if Everton are selling clowns like Stones for £50M can't imagine how much Lukaku would go for.

In all fairness we paid 5 million more for Fellaini than we had too. He had a 25 million clause that expired little before we bought him.

If anything, we screwed City

How can Lukaku guarantee 20 league goals? He never played for ManUtd and ManUtd don't play the same style as Everton.

I like Lukaku and would love to have him at ManUtd but your posts are very tiresome. Each one have their own view about players and the style of players they want at their club, you don't have to make decision for everyone.

We can't say for sure he can't guarantee x amount of goals. But what we can say for sure is that here he will be surrounded with better players that will provide him with better delivery.

Lukaku has proved more in a central striker position than Martial has - not saying Martial couldn't be a great centre forward but so far he hasn't been played there too much - suggests he is seen more as a wide forward rather than a centre forward right now at Utd. Has there been anything to suggest Martial will be played centrally by Jose?

For what it's worth, Lukaku can dribble as well. Martial is the better dribbler obviously but I don't think Martial's future is as a striker.

I think Martial's best position is LWF in a 433 where he'll have less defensive responsibilty and stays higher up the pitch, similar to the role played by Neymar, Hazard, etc. Lukaku and Rashford will be good options to have at CF.

You realise that it's the flat track bully who guarantees you points against the 'weaker' sides and is incredibly valuable? Not saying he even is one but even if he was it's not that much of a negative when most of the teams you play each season are outside the top 6.
I do, yes. We would be up there with Chelsea if we bullied our way through all those draws. Genuine question though rather than beating stick.

The only reason we was in that semi final was because he pretty much singlehandedly dragged us there with a hell of a performance against Chelsea.

100 million for Lukaku and Barkley would be exactly why the Premier League struggles internationally.

Lukaku is worth a few bob for any team who wants to buy him - Barkley though I agree is overhyped due to being an English player who appears to have slightly above average technique but very little else - outside of the Premiership Barkley wouldn't be worth more than £20 million.

Well Under LVG Posession based philosophy yes he was better at LWF position but jose mourinho's philosophy needs off the ball workrate, off the ball vision to attack the space and beat the offside trap and very high work rate to counter attack and wingers have to contribute defensively, Which offensive wise martial has been lacking all season and therefore benched. His strenghts do not match with the profile required for that position in that philosophy like a Ronaldo Bale robben nani would do, wingers need to give supply to the striker and his skills on the ball is not made use of properly. Rashford's movement has been better than martial in that position.

Every Winger full back is struggling to adat to jose's philosophy with hazard filipe luis salah shaw martial Mkh early on which needs high workrate.

Also We can only get one of Lukaku and Griezman.

It's just a matter of time before everyone sees Barkley for what he Is. A great talent. He's arguably been the best midfielder in the league since the turn of the year.

His technique is great, he hardly ever loses the ball now because of it combined with his power. There was always a brilliant player in him and Koeman has got him performing. He's got him so fit and sharp now that he's lost all that weight he put on in the wrong places. He's so confident now and he's been running games for us lately.

It always takes opposition fans awhile to clock onto a player 'turning the corner' naturally as they don't get to see him often but I now truly believe the penny has dropped with him.

Well you see a lot more of him than I do so i'll take your word for that however I have never actually been that impressed with him in the games i have watched.

He hasn't been that impressive the past 2 seasons. He's now got the sharpness and confidence to go with his brilliant natural ability.

He'd be such a huge asset to a top club.. I think we're mad if we're not interested. He'd bring all the physicality of Zlatan, with more pace and better finishing than anyone else in the team. He's a match winner, and we need many more.

He'dhave even less responsibility in this new 343 thing we're playing

I remember the videos of him and pogba off playing basketball together in the US while pogbas move was being agrèed and wondering whether they were both meeting our reps. I suspect we've already put in a lot of ground work on lukaku. Im going out on a limb and saying hes our big summer signing. Jose said thered be a surprise and that pogba wouldnt be the worlds most expensive player anymore and i believe lukakus release clause is 90m, which would be a new record.

Looks like he's decided to leave...

http://www.espnfc.com/story/3088720...on-says-decision-already-made-on-everton-deal

Speaking to reporters while with the Belgium national team, Lukaku left no doubt his mind is made up.

"The decision has already been made so I can't talk about that," Lukaku said of his future at Everton.

Lukaku then defended his "ambition" -- one week after criticising Everton's desire to sign top players and push for honours.

"There is nothing wrong with ambition. You have to embrace it and where you are as a footballer," he said.

"I've made a long way until now but the road is still long and I know I have to improve and get better. I want to help Everton as much as I can, as well as the national team. I think a lot of stuff can be achieved.

"Sometimes people will mistake things that I say but it's just ambition that I have; I want to win titles and trophies and I don't think people should take that as arrogance -- people should embrace it.

"This is what footballers need to achieve if they want to become the best, and I think young kids need to learn that too."

Bang on point.

The players around Zlatan have simply not scored enough. You do get the feeling that things will be very different in another season because there is no doubt about the ability of players like Miki, Martial, Rashford, Mata and Pogba to score goals.

All If Lukaku costs 90 million, wouldn't it be better to get Griezemann then?

It's Griezmann for me every minute of the day, no disrespect to Lukaku.

Griezmann belongs to an elite group of players that will always be worth the risk.

How some not interested in that beast is beyond me, he is exactly what we need, still young and much better finisher than any striker we have in the team, hope just hope that somehow we can buy him although I know that Mourinho doesn't seem interested.
