Think the fee is £85m rising to £100m. £75m + Rooney valued at £10m + £15m in add-ons.

Mourinho's insistence on buy-back clauses
Chelsea didn’t insert one in Lukaku’s contract when he permanently left for Everton. What a great piece of work by Mourinho that was.
4D chess.

Under Mourinho at Chelsea,
Mata and Lukaku is not good enough.

*Since then both learn their trade at different clubs*

Under Mourinho at Manchester United,
Mata is a great player, and Lukaku is good enough.

Its not about being good enough, they were not suited for the style

With the contract Rooney had he is worth feck all to us. No one would give us a transfer fee for him if we tried to sell him.

I don't really care how much he will go for but a lot of people said we were silly to be asking for 50m+ and we are getting a lot more than that. We will probably release the fee in a statement when he leaves.

He is worth 50 as a player.

To United? Well you've got 25m more.

I get the fact some of you want to keep pushing the figure higher than reported but I think it's genuinely a fair price all round.

Just seen this on twitter, is this true?

Definitely not true.
Rooney is worth £0, not £25M.
Whoever wrote that hasn't watched Rooney play for about 3 years.

It was said Real Madrid wanted a buy-back clause for Morata, which is ludicrous.

This makes no sense.

Firstly, in no world is rooney worth 25m. 5m maybe.
Why is Schneiderlins fee even being discussed? If we agreed tyo waive the rest of the fee that's fine... but they still have the 'worth ' of that player. All it means is Everton ended up paying less...so will have more cash.
The keane money is paid by burnley. And even if somehow we managed to use this in the fee for lukaku, again all it means is Everton pay less for keane =more cash.

Rooney's value really is purely hypothetical. You can say Rooney's worth £1 or £100m and argue the 'fee' is in the region of £75,000,0001 and £175,000,000. But using a player we were literally willing to get go on a free to lower the price of an asset we want is very clever.

Tbh, the way he played last season, I'd say Rooney was worth -75M.

We got Lukaku for fweeeeee

BigDunc said around 100m. 75m up front fee and reported add-ons would take it to 90m. So I don't get why he's being ridiculed or "pushing the figure higher than reported". We will see when the transfer is completed.

In the end, it doesn't really matter what anyone values Rooney. The important thing is we've bought a great goalscorer in, and this time, someone who is here for the long run, not some stop gap.

Most people must have realised we'd have to shell out big once the Ibra time had run its course.

My reality is we took your best player and gave you our worst player.

The money involved is irrelevant as i am not paying it and you personally aren't recieving it.
It's funded a massive spending spree at Everton which their fans will benefit from. They've already spent the £90m on Pickford £30m, Keane £30m, Klaassen £23.6m and Onyekuru £7m. Ramirez undisclosed and Rooney free mean that they have brought in 6 players and are going for Sigurdsson for £32m. It reminds me of Spurs after the Bale deal.

Sorry if this has been covered. But of his 25 league goals last season, how many were penalties?

Baines is their PK taker so I'm guessing not many

Not sure if accountants would price it this way!!:lol::lol:

Why not throw in the fact that Rooney will use less water in the shower and that his parking space is worth more now since he used to park there (ie brand asset.).

That will reduce the price further.

Clearly everyone is slightly on edge about this transfer or they would just admit Rom cost around 90 to 100m instead of trying to ignore the 15 million add ons. Rooney as a free transfer i can believe.

For what it is worth in this day and age he is probably nearly worth that amount when you see the other fees knocking about.

I was just digging up all the people who laughed at me for saying he would go for around 100m.

I am actually looking forward to seeing how Sandro Ramirez does.

His value is the opportunity cost of not selling him to the highest alternative bidder. We obviously don't know what that was/would be but I'm sure we could make an educated guess it wouldn't be anything more than 10m. I have my doubts we'd ever have gotten that much money for him given his wages and really using him in this Lukaku deal was the best possible deal we could get for him.

Mourinho is a double agent.

He planned for his move to United long before it happens.

Relax mate, you are entitled to your opinions , We are not laughing but putting in some counter points.

My only wish in this world is to see a photograph of Romelu Menama Lukaku in Manchester United's home kit with his neck, face and body a nice, uniform colour.
