We look bad if we show to be interested and start banging the big Red Rom to United drum. Only for him to ditch us for Chelsea last minute.

Iam tired about Chelsea hijacking our deals, happened with Mikel, happened with Hazard, happened with Pedro if it now happens with Lukaku it will really look bad on the club yet again.

Only one of those players was a miss. The rest belong in the blessings in disguise thread.

To think that he could've been England's Brave Romelu Lukaku...:(
More seriously, maybe Chelsea are trying to placate Crazy Conte by appearing to make a big effort.
It's a shame :( he will have to settle for being the number 9 for the biggest club in the country. :(

Are people actually considering staying up for this?

I'll be awake for any news. Fly to Portugal for a stag do in about 3 hours so I'm not going to sleep anyway as I'll just feel like pure shit waking up in the middle of the night.

All the journos who just ran with "Chelsea match United's £75m bid" will within 3 days be talking about United spending £90m on Lukaku.

I agree but it is the principal of losing out to Chelsea on a player we want yet again that doesnt sit well with me (and many others)

Yep. 'Are agents ruining the game? (Please say yes)'

And after every goal he scores, they will say he could have been doing the same at chelsea but modern football and money ruins boyhood dreams.
