Romelu Lukaku | Chelsea

He's just got tremendously thin skin. Probably stems from being told from 14 onwards you're going to be world class, every day.

Don't even think what he said is bad, but just dumb. Reminds me of when he posted all the players speeds in training, to make himself feel better.

No, that’s fair. This forum is too critical of him but the one thing I think all would agree with is that he has a monumentally sized chip on his shoulder. It’s like he’s constantly got to prove himself to everyone, and as a result he constantly ends up in pointless battles and it tends to go like this. In Italy it seemed to stop at Inter under Conte for a while at least.

He's the Kevin Durant of football, without Durant's greatness.

United should swap Rashford with Werner and let Chelsea rot with both of these whinny primadonas.

Entirely predictable although I wasnt expecting it to be soon, thought Chelsea would at least have got a season out of him before he started this carry on again.

He's so precious, first bit of adversity and he's looking to bolt. Same old story.

You have to act as a true professional when you play at this high level, and with the club situation these days it’s really strange hearing him saying this in public! Even if a player is not happy he has to keep this in closed doors, he is telling Inter come and get me plea but what if Inter can not afford buying him back? I wonder which club can afford buying him specially after what he declared!

I said it 4 years ago and I'll say it again: this guy is not fit to lace Zlatan's boots. Technically, nor mentally.

I genuinely think no one has a higher opinion about him then Lukaku himself. The most overrated football player I can think of. The odd 300 million paid for him over the years boggles my mind. Can someone please note one performance from him over the past 10 years when he dominated a single significant game against a top team? I Honestly can't recall even one of those.

Sorry, when exactly did Marcus Rashford complain to the press? I must have missed that.

Lukaku though. If there's a definition of a lack of team spirit and professionalism, it's complaining that the manager is playing a system that isn't tailored to suit you. Especially when the manager is in fact, as far as I can tell, playing exactly the same system he did last season. And when you've been bought for an enormous amount of money to solve a problem you haven't solved.

An absolute thundercnut. This disrespect he shows at times is incredible. For someone who has such a chip on their shoulder about his own name being respected you’d think he’d show some respect to the fans of the clubs he’s played for. Does he think Inter fans are 7 year olds that he can kid with that nonsense he was spouting?
And wasn’t he talking about how much a dream it was to go back to Chelsea?

He must absolutely hate it when people call him a donkey. I can imagine it tearing him apart inside

He really doesn't help himself does he? first time his Chelsea career has had a wobble and instead of being a 'grown big man' or whatever he labelled himself, he runs at the first sign of trouble.

No wonder he wants back to Italy where he can get a 5 minute rest between attacks.

Why on earth would we want Timo sodding Werner? At least Rashford is a half decent finisher.

Cant understand why professional players say stuff like this, they usually go where the biggest offer is regardless of style of play, inter from reading reports don't have the money, Chelsea do and can sit on an asset as big as lukaku on bench til he has to play for world cups or whatever, fans need to know that this isn't the game we in this forum usually play, we get nothing for it and play for our clubs for free, if a manager comes in and doesn't play you, you don't leave, you fight for it, like trent said he would retire before joining man utd, if he has a serious dip in form and Liverpool release him, he gladly take any offer from man utd

There’s something very “cocky NFL wr/rb” - ish about him ala Terrell Owens. He thinks very highly of himself (as he most certainly should) but never seems to play for the team and put in the extra work. The League is so physically demanding, he should be dominant against defenses with his abilities but maybe Italy is his level. Him whining to the media while playing for 2 of the biggest teams in England is great insight into his mentality and goals as a footballer. Taking pages out of Ballotelli’s playbook.

So where and when will the Romelu Littlest Hobo tour of Europe rock up next do we think?

Cracking player but of all the top players in the world he must be one of the weakest mentally. Which makes you wonder if he wasn't what he could have achieved.

Supposedly some Italians have translated the original interview and it is nowhere near as blunt and dramatic as Romano made out. An Italian himself, he appears to have made a huge story out of a very little thing by sensationalizing some quotes, and the interview is best part of a month old. The proper version itself i didnt see anything really wrong with it.... might just be me,

He's never been very good, and he's always been a complete tosser. Was good in Serie A because he had Conte, but probably more because that's his level. What he said now isn't THAT bad it's more the inevitability that he always has to be mouthing off to the media. Have never understood why the media, especially over the last few years, try to make out he's the second coming of Pele.

Werner is an excellent finisher and has great off the ball movement. He was exceptional in RB Leipzig. Once settled he will be a 20+ goal a league season forward.
Meanwhile it’s Rashford’s sixth season at United and he never scored close to 20 goals in the league and he never will.

One of the most overhyped and overrated strikers in Europe. I think even Morata was/is better and that’s damning.

The only thing that surprises me is how such a one-dimensional flat-track bully has played for so many top teams as the first choice striker - probably speaks volumes of the lack of good number 9s in the game right now,

I saw few saying "Interview was given 3 weeks ago/last month", how does that change anything? The moment he isn't give starting position by default, he moans and cries about it.

There is so much hatred for this guy. You can’t score as many goals in the game as he has and be “shit”. It’s just not possible.

Teams pay a premium because he scores goals. In football, you guarantee Champions’ League football, and even title challenges, by making sure you beat the lesser teams, and he guarantees goals in those games. It’s that simple.

People need to stop comparing players numbers with outliers like Ronaldo and Messi. His are seriously impressive.

It didn’t work out for him here, but who has it really worked out for in the last 6-7 years?

Well, he scored 17 league goals in 2019-20, which is close to 20. But that was one season and he certainly hasn't improved upon it since.

I've come to terms with the fact that Rashford is a slightly better Welbeck.

I still think we owe Conte a big gift for offloading him from us on that price.I don't give a feck about his goals he is just a big fat twat.
