Van Persie head coach Feyenoord with immediate effect
Robin van Persie is the new head coach of Feyenoord 1. The Rotterdam club has reached agreement with sc Heerenveen, where Van Persie was at the helm of the first team, on an immediate transfer that will allow the 41-year-old born Rotterdam native to start at training complex 1908 from next Monday. At De Kuip the same day, Van Persie will sign a contract until mid-2027.
Feyenoord has also recruited René Hake to join Feyenoord 1 as assistant coach. Hake gained extensive experience over the past 20 years as trainer and assistant coach at FC Emmen, PEC Zwolle, FC Twente, SC Cambuur, FC Utrecht, Go Ahead Eagles and Manchester United. Hake also signed with Feyenoord until mid-2027.
'We are delighted that with Robin van Persie we can appoint a true club icon as the new coach of Feyenoord 1,' said general manager Dennis te Kloese. 'Robin knows the club incredibly well and knows exactly what is needed to achieve results.'
