Seems like he really loves playing in red shirt. Some of our players could learn from him.

I do really hope that he does not regret joining us. Hopefully we will prove to be a great fit for him once we get our attack sorted out, but he would have been phenomenal for Arsenal based on this attacking displays this season.

Sorry askabob. But I remembered this post.

RVP must feel like he has made a brilliant decision to join us. As someone mentioned in a thread earlier, he has over 30 goals and assists in the league.

One of the best debut seasons for any player that I can recall. Probably even better than van Nistelrooy's.

On 2nd thoughts RVN's debut season probably was better. But because there was no title at the end of it, it makes RVP's seem better.

What was RvN stats?

I was tempted to say RvN played in a worse side but iirc we had Giggs, Scholes, Veron, Keane, Beckham in that side? :wow:

Unfortunately didn't quite click in the middle as it should have or could have

Wilshere will have seen RVP, fabregas, song, Nasri and Clichy all leave and win titles in their first season after Arse.

I am sure he knows full well his chances of a trophy at arse are very slim.

:My Arsenal supporting housemate just turned down my lovely offer of watching RVP win his first PL title tomorrow, also seemed to be a little bitter at the thought of watching his guard of honour at the Emirates.

Bloody rude of him if I do say so.

Suarez won't play again this season, so, pretty good chance for RVP to take the golden boot.

Nothing quite like seeing it happen in front of your eyes, though.

That said, Wilshere will be much harder to shift that any of the others who have been poached from Arsenal under Wenger. It's entirely possible that he'll do a Gerrard and stay there forever.

I had a dream last night where he called me on the phone to tell me he was thinking of moving to United. The muppet-lust may be getting a little out of hand...

RVP is going to be like an excited little kid tomorrow if his interviews are anything to go by. Can't believe he's only got an FA Cup medal to show for his entire time in England.

What if we don't get a result at Villa and he goes on to score the winner at Arsenal. Will he celebrate it?

No. Maybe if it was the last game of the season and the title went down to the wire. But given that we'll almost definitely win the thing anyway, I think he'd show his class and restrain himself.

the filth some of their fans sing, he should rejoice in really savouring it.

Who needs a golden boot when you've got a:

Fair enough RF - you are right and it was the right decision in the end, which is what I always hoped for. He's settled in brilliantly and has had a fantastic first season!

I remember earlier some of us had said that RvP misses a lot of easy chances and were kind of shot down for that but it turns out that the stats support that :

"Robin Van Persie has misses more clear cut chances (22) than any other player in the Premier League"

He really could have had 30-35 goal season if he'd been slightly more clinical with the easier chances he's had this season.

I think this grew exponentially when he had that goal drought. Before that he was very clinical, no?

I don't think so. He used to miss some sitters even back when he was freely scoring. Infact I don't remember him missing too many clear cut chances during his goal drought.

Madrid away, City at home (I think - came on and volleyed over an easy chance) and either Reading or Sunderland in the last minute he missed an easy 1v1 chance from Young's pass are the one's I can remember.

Was always mystified when pundits and people on here were saying he was clinical.

Never mind though, he's been amazingly influential in getting us to where we're at now. Ronaldo-ish stuff during that first half of the season.
