Don't know if something similar has been posted before, but I've only got a few minutes before Big Brother and haven't checked... so here goes.
Manchester United want to sign Rio Ferdinand.
Leeds United want their supporters to think they don't want to sell him, particularly not to Manchester United.
Peter Risdale issues statement after statement saying Rio Ferdinand is not for sale.
Leeds United issue a statement declaring there will be no new contract (pay rise) for Rio Ferdinand if he stays with the club.
Sir Alex Ferguson comments (Friday) publicly for the first time that he is interested in bringing Rio Ferdinand to Old Trafford.
Leeds United are trying to force Rio Ferdinand to ask for a transfer and shift the blame for his 'move' onto Rio himself and away from the club - thus keeping the supporters on their side.
Sir Alex Ferguson is turning up the heat asking 'We want you Rio, do you want us?'
Is Rio Ferdinand big enough to ask for a transfer. If he is, then he's the player we want in the squad. If not, then he's not got the bottle to play for Manchester United and he can sit in top eight medioricty at Elland Road.
What I think will happen: Rio will see Sir Alex Ferguson wants him, will be backed into a corner by Leeds United's refusal to negotiate an improved contract, will have the bottle to ask for a transfer and will be a Manchester United player within two weeks.
There you go...
