Right, music lovers...

My favourite album this year (thus far) has been Susanne Sundfør's "The Silicone Veil". Fantastically well-produced and structured.

Highly recommended:

First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar

[...]

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Take It From The Man!

Saw First Aid Kit when they opened for Jack White at the Olympia in Paris last month, they didn't sound great. But haven't listened to their album, might give them a chance.

However, Take it from the man ! is one of my all-time favourite albums, can just listen to it over and over. Brilliant, brilliant album. Love "Cabin fever" on it.

A few recommendations:
- Jack White/Blunderbuss: his first solo album, can really feel the blues influences on it.
- The Roots/Undûn: as mentioned above, great album. Preferred How I Got Over though, their previous album, but very good nonetheless. Got to see them live a month ago, they're amazing on stage.
- A Place To Bury Strangers/Worship: APTBS's latest album is Worship, but if you don't know then, I recommend listening to their first two LPs, first one is called A place to bury strangers, the second is Exploding Head. Presented as "the loudest band in New York", they're a rock/shoegazer band, influenced by My bloody valentine but with a very unique sound.

Indeed I am. Still have the album cover you sent on my wall :D

I've listened to it but not properly. Some songs I liked, some not so much. Need to give it a better listen.

Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math
M83 - Hurry Up We're Dreaming
The National - High Violet

The 3 that seem to be my journey to work albums at the moment.

Yeah, I've never actually seen them live but I've listened to four-five live recordings, and their voices sound a lot weaker in a few of those. After listening to their albums/eps for a long while I was quite disappointed since I expected them to be great live acts. But they'll probably get more consistent, a couple of the recordings are very good, I've also read some very good critiques of their concerts.

Justin Townes Earle on the other hand is f***ing amazing live, way better than on record, one of the best concerts I've ever been to, top three for sure.

Antibalas new, self titled album is fantastic if you like afrobeat. Not as good or diverse as their "Security" LP, mind.

The single from the new CD.

Favourite track off 'Security'.
